*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

anyone had the not enough free system memory error occur when browsing the net i have nothing open and hardly even used the net if at all why is this coming up and how do i stop it?

PS4's patching system is hugely flawed and Sony are working on a fix. This was recently highlighted by Gaijin the developers behind War Thunder. They recently released a huge update for their game which changed everything within the game and was a 3GB download. In this update their was a bug which caused the game to crash/freeze as well as the console. They then released a patch hours later 12MB in size for users to fix this bug, but users had to download another 3GB instead.

Apparently the current patching system makes users download everything again instead of just the current update or something along those lines, Sony know about the issue now and they are working on it.

Gaijin have had yet another update approved by SCE but cannot release it until Sony has fixed this patching system flaw.

This could potentially mean that a lot of updates are put on hold until the system is fixed then you could see many updates hitting at once.

This is a recent issue and therefore shouldn't really effect us too much. Maybe to be addressed by the new firmware update?

If the quality of the pads aren't made to a decent standard it makes me wonder if any issues with the actual console will arise.

I wouldn't buy anything ever if I were you. You never know when a minor problem will crop up for you to waste 10 minutes out of your day sorting.

These things are really louder than the x1? I find that to be the most noise I'd want. I'm meant to be buying my console on friday if game has them back in stock.

Mine is also very quiet, I guess the environment will have the biggest effect e.g. Is it in a unit with lots of other av equipment generating heat, does it have plenty ventilation.

Mine is sitting on top of a unit with nothing else next to it at all.

I don't quite get the noise topic. It's not THAT noisy, not nearly compared to the ps3. Anyhow, when you have the sound cranked up on BF4 or you headphones on, no cares!

The PS4 is definitely louder than the XB1. Not by much at all, and both are really very quiet, but the XB1 is certainly a touch quieter.

I had to take the back panel off of my TV cabinet as the hot air blasting directly out of the back of the PS4 was causing it to get really hot and loud, a couple of times after playing KZ it took a good 5 minutes for the console to shut down as the fans kept spinning to cool it. My XB1, or any other previous console never suffered any issues in the same cabinet though.

It's much better now, but the XB1 is still noticeably quieter.

I resurrected my old USA PSN account last night for a look on the US Store and noticed that they have Infamous available to preorder for about £36.50. Fifa is the same price as opposed to £55 on the UK store.

Also you can buy PS4 game codes on Amazon.com and add them to the US account. Not much available just now but some are cheaper than buying through the console. NBA 2K14 for example works out at £30.

If you're not averse to digital purchases then it's not a bad way to go.

Quite interested in new wireless headset, although I think as I generally detest online gaming that I'm better off with a decent pair of headphones rather than a headset.
Issue is I don't know if I can run headphones through an Amp through PS4 and the controller would not be able to drive the sort I'm after.

Is there 3 Sony wireless headsets in total that they are enabling?

1) Sony Wireless Stereo Headset (PS3) (2011) - PlayStation 3
2) Sony PlayStation 3 Pulse Wireless Stereo Headset (PS3) (2012)
And now a new "2.0" one?

From what I can see all of them need a USB dongle :(

I can't tell much difference in the specs of the existing 2. Anyone know the exact differences? I would want one where I could attach the 3.5mm cable for other devices.

rp2000

The 2.0 version headset will have a 3.5mm jack, it says as much on the Playstation EU blog. The other two headsets are wireless only I believe.
