*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

I'm signed into PSN, downloading an update.

Noticed some weird server connectivity issues for Rainbow Six last night, but wasn't too bad.

PSN won't be taken seriously until they make it fully stable. It's not there yet.

Got a PS4 coming tomorrow wuth Uncharted 4 and Dirt Rally. Mainly getting it as a social thing (all my mates have them and game together online). What other games would people recommend?

We have a very good community of people of all ages and walks of life, we play Destiny, Black Ops 3, Rainbow 6, and the current favourite is Overwatch which is an absolute blast. I'll shoot you an invite unless you're some kind of weirdo (that's my spot, don't touch).

Well our office was popular today haha! Got the PS4 delivered to work. Come 3:00pm had loads of website work to do but our provider was having issues so couldn't get on. Therefore we decided to set the PS4 up on our £600 projector as a test of 'new technologies' - to be fair we did need to test the projector as it was new. Ended up with us playing beat the best time on Dirt Rally haha!

Well that didn't last long for me. Bought a PS4 mainly for Bloodborne and it came with Uncharted 4. This game had serious issues crashing for me and at first I thought it was the game, given how many reports I saw when I looked it up. Since then I've tried Bloodborne (which I loved, and finished despite a few crashes) and Until Dawn which became unplayable very quickly. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps, followed instructions from lots of online sources and videos to fix this and it seems it's a widespread issue. I've decided I've had it with Sony now.

I had problems with two separate PS3's, Sony's customer support is diabolical, and this PS4 is brand new. I'm not even gonna try and get a replacement. This thing is going, and I'm not touching another Sony product as long as I live. I'm saddened it came to this as Bloodborne was incredible and I'd like to have hung onto it but this is just a total joke. It's not just one error code either. On more than one occasion the sound has badly distorted, and several times the machine has just shut itself down mid-game.

Having seen the sheer number of people reporting this problem pretty much everywhere I look, I'm just wondering...has anyone here had this problem? And if so, did you manage to solve it?

Sounds like bad luck more than anything.
I still have my launch day PS3 going strong (although a little louder these days but im sure 10 years of dust will do that) snd it heats the house up nicely in winter.
Launch PS4 is also fine.

I've have 2 (fat and slim) PS3s and have 2 PS4s, never a single issue with any.

I'd be looking at where your housing them, if there is no air flow they will die.

Cheers for the responses folks, but there's no issue on my end. There is more than adequate room for the console so airflow isn't an issue and being a PC owner I'm used to maintaining and frequently dusting all my electronic equipment.

I also have owned an Xbox 360 which was free of issues, and have an Xbox One which has not given me a single problem yet. In fact I don't think a single game has crashed on that.

Also, looking on google or youtube for error code CE-34878-0 it seems that it is a very well known issue which according to some sources, Sony have blatantly tried to sweep under the carpet.

I could easily have my console replaced, but to be honest I don't wish to give Sony any more business. The last experience (too long to go into here) left a very bitter taste and I still have yet to forgive them for that. Their customer service really is the worst I've ever experienced. Money is no issue, I'm gonna call this one a loss and move on. I only wanted it for Bloodborne anyway and I've definitely had my moneys worth from that.

Cheers again for the suggestions but I'll stick to PC from now on I think, and occasionally my Xbox One.
