Let's be real, the biggest reason not to buy a PS5 Pro is this sad excuse for a list.

Half of them are remakes/remasters or games that will end up in PC with a year or two.
My god I didn't realise it was that bad, glad I didn't get a ps5 in the end. Never thought I would say that about a playstation console.
It's not about the money for me either, I spent over £2k on a new pc in October. It just doesn't have the games or the exclusivity anymore.

Pathetic isn't it?

I'd class myself as a PS fanboi over the years, I've had every gen and Pro, VR1 & 2. This is the first time I'm not looking at buying the latest.

The price is off putting yeah, but it's the games man, there is nothing new to play.

Unreal how they have shown this thing off with a price tag that will grab headlines (not in a good way) and not shown anything other than games everyone has already completed.

Sony need competition to be at their best and they aren't getting any, I've sold my series x as I barely used it but my PS5 isn't exactly on every night.

So many people saying "yeah but you could get a 40xx for that money" and leaving out that you have to buy the rest of the PC..
Most of us have a pc as well though I imagine.

Mine may still be AM4 but that's more than enough, a GPU for me later in the year and just keep my Slim.

The Slim is perfect for a living room console, even 30fps on a 4k TV is fine in that setup for me.

Nah, no need for a pro here.

I suppose many do here. I don’t and I don’t care to and neither do millions of others. The thought of a console upgrade ofc interests me because that’s all I play on but at £700 it needs to be a hell of a thing. Not sure yet if this is.

That's more than fair enough.

I guess this is a forum linked to a pc parts shop so I guess it could be a skewed sample set in reality.

I never bought the PS4 Pro but if I'd had a 4K TV at the time I could very well have been tempted. I can't honestly see what the PS5 Pro really brings to the table in a similar way, maybe some new releases may help show it off though.

Sony seem to be pushing into a premium gaming space, but its not going to be attractive vs a PC, the advantage of consoles has typically been their lower entry costs, and I dont consider £825 particularly low. There is then a annual cost of soon to be £70 to replace the controller as well.

I usually buy my PlayStations late into the generations life, and pick up all the first party titles I'm interested in on the cheap.

This time I got my PS5 in Sept of '21, and since then I've been using it to play my PS4 back catalogue and only have a few actual PS5 games (R&C, Ragnorak and Astrobot). Sometimes I've started a game on PS5 and it's been released on PC, so end up ending the PS playthrough and restarting on PC.

In short, the first party "new" exclusives are not there for me to consider upgrading to a Pro.

What annual cost is this? I'm using a PS5 controller on my PC for 3 years.
I'm also pretty certain they are usually on offer somewhere for 50 or less.

Do you actually own a console, or you just a typical PC master-race guy?

Why so defensive? There are a number of controllers that contain these things for less money. It's got nothing to do with master race. The controllers can be used on multiple devices.

I don't know about manufacturing costs but I'm sure it must be cheaper to have them than to keep replacing controllers with drift issues under warranty.

The guy is dark cloud on a sunny day, constant negative comments in this thread.

Ah ok. Haven't been following, sorry.

Haven't been negative, he's just trolling people. Only negative issue I have with the PS5 PRO is the price and I was actually waiting for one to buy, but seems a few on here are Sony stock holders. I was actually looking forward to the PS5 PRO as I wanted to add one to my SONY collection of consoles. But as we see some people are on here just trying to pick fights, where normal customers of such devices are asking why the price hike and why they don't come with updated Hall effect controllers by now as they have drift issues always at £70 a pop now.. Hall effect don't cost more than the regular sticks these days.

Yes i'm a well known troll around these here parts. Dude you have not made one positive comment since you appeared when the Pro got announced.

But this is offtopic.
