The Official Prometheus (Alien Prequel) Thread

Off to see this next week with the missus, gonna give opening night a miss as it will be madness at the cinema lol.

Got Prometheus and that new Snow White Huntsman movie to watch next fri...snow white for the missus and prometheus for me...shame its only in 3D though :/

I think people are expecting a perfect masterpiece. None of the Alien films are perfect. All have their mistakes and plot holes. For me, these things sometimes make a film more interesting. I'm just going to watch it for what it is, a decent high budget Sci-Fi film which happens to be loosely tied in to the Alien films. I'm looking forward to it regardless of any reviews. Why are people concerned?

14 Hrs 30 Mins to go.

I'm off.. A new thread for spoilers is the way to go..

I couldn't care about reviews.. I'll make my own mind up about this movie.
I'm so excited about it there is simply no way it can meet my expectations but if it even gets 50% there I'm going to be crying with joy.

Yeah, I'm pretty concerned now. Empire trashed it quite badly - they gave it 3/5 but the review sounded more like a 2/5 at best :(

This is the same Empire that gave Avatar 5/5 and Attack of the Clones 4/5?

I think the Empire review can be totally disregarded. It reads as though the author has a serious chip on his shoulder for Lindelolf and disgust that the movie isn't simply a remake of Alien.

Wouldn't you have a chip on your shoulder for Lindelolf? I mean, the guy is a pretty hammy writer at the best of times.

I'm still looking forward to it but having Lindelolf on script duties has always been a questionable to choice for me. Plus in the grand scheme of things Ridley is just as well known for his clunkers but his films always look great and on that alone I can't see it doing anything but impress.

Theres a midnight showing at the Odeon in WSM, but its 3D and £9.50 for a ticket without buying the glasses on top.

I would goto see it, but the quality of the equipment at the Odeon is shocking and so doesnt lend itself to a 3D picture, also the screen sizes are small, I would rather drive to Bristol and enjoy the film properly.

As for paying £9.50+, pfffttt, no chance.

Just noticed a load of people bitching on my local Vue's website about 3D vs 2D. What's the big fuss? Seems like there is a lot of 3D hate?

I'm paying £11, you peasant :p:D

Normally I only pay £4 a ticket so for this it's worth the premium! I have to say that I thought the Cinema de Lux was stunning when I saw The Riad there the other week. Comfy seats and a sound system that for me is the best I've heard in many years!!!!!

Dinner, Fringe, Alien, Go to Promethues for midnight. A great evening :D

7 tickets for £77.65 inclusive of 3D glasses at my local odeon, seen a load of 3D movies there and the picture has always been excellent.

5 hours and counting...
