***The Official Q6600 Overclocking Thread ***

Anyone here running the asus p5k-e?

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-241-AS

If so, what clocks you getting?

And im really going for a long shot but anyone have the antec 900 with these beasts?

That's exactly what I'm running -

Q6600
Antec 900
Asus P5k-e wifi
2Gb OCZ PC6400 Platinum
Freezer 7 - which seems to be doing the job ok in this case.

All 120mm fans set to low, 200mm fan set to medium and freezer 7 controlled by bios, so far its all very quiet and giving me 3.4Ghz @ 65C after prime for 9 hours.

Wow.............what luck lol. Did you do ok connecting all the fans on the mobo or did you connect them to the psu?

I would also like to see the cabling job. ;)

Oh and about that Pneumonic post, he said he opens his window in Ipswich...................let me take you to Scotland where we peak at -16 :P (not to mention my room is high up)

The case fans all connect via molex plugs to the psu and have separate controllers on each one with low-medium-high settings.

The cabling I found to be OK, all the front panel connectors I routed under the mobo, that really only left me with 2 SATA cables and power cables to connect as there are no IDE devices in my rig, the mobo tray has a few holes cut in it to route cables as well so all in all I found it pretty easy.... having said that i could still tidy it up further but its good enough for me. Will sort a picture out when I get in.

Like I say, could be better ;)

Hi guys - long time lurker here and I thought I better start posting something!

Got two Q66 G0's one that does [email protected] (hipro calls it a "00") and one that does [email protected] ("20").

Both Quad Prime95 v25.5 stable on my P5K Deluxe. Gotta say - I'm loving these Kentsfield's, and this P5K Deluxe. The mobo required a heck of a lot of testing to find of what helps for max oc, and what's best for performance/clock, but it's reaping so many benefits now.

Both those OC's are really quick tests (only spent an hour or so with each cpu) but those were the sweet points. I'll get some more testing done this weekend hopefully and post back some screenshots.

Btw, SGWills, your sig pic is confusing - "C2Q E6600"? I know what you mean, but it's a Q6600 :)

Put my Q6600 and Gigabyte P35 DS3 in yesterday, with Crucial Balistix

So far at 9x I was running 360, got bsod when I tried 375

Now im at 8 x 375 - 3Ghz and get an error when I try to prime and just got a bsod

Vcore - 1.4v
Ram - 2.0v
MCH + 0.1
FSB + 0.1

Temps are under 40 on Idle

What should I do next?

Have you set the Memory Multiplier to x2.0? And give the Ballistix atleast 2.1v. It's speced at 2.2v.

Now at 3.6 and it runs fine for windows, ran geekbench ok but fails prime within seconds

And help or advice would be great. Have I gone too far?
