those two screenshots above look horrible to me?
For whatever reason there's this LUT mod that became popular but it makes the game have puke-like colour grading. Vanilla is way better. Granted, even these screenshots aren't the best for how it looks with HDR.

Raster:

RT (modified w/ Ultra Plus, PT-like):

Looks like nvidias work with UE 5 is paying of, another UE 5 title favouring nvidia it seems:

I did the udual IMGsli for First Descendant comparing RT vs Raster with and without FG. Visually Raster is done really well in this, I'm guessing software Lument is used but it also shows as the errors in shadow accuracy are quite jarring, as is the latency delay in screen space GI and Raster isn't "clean" either as it exhibits more garbling than the RT Ultra path which I also assume is software Lumen since it's not actually using Ray Reconstruction to proper effect like other games are to clean up RT delay artefacting and RT noise.

You look like you ae floating when using Raster as there are no accurate shadows cast by your character when on a glossy surface, and no shadows at all when on normal surfaces a lot of the time.

Video showing said noise:

All in all, I don't think this game is an impressive demonstration of RT or DLSS 3.5, it feels unpolished regardless of the highest settings being used.

It also seems quite unoptimised on the engine side of things, a lot of the time the 4090 was dropping to 85% utilisation in Albion, the CPU usage wasn't that high either so it wasn't a CPU limited situation. Play an actually optimised game with heavy RT like Alan Wake 2 and Cyberpunk and the GPU usage sticks to 99% at all times using the same DLSS/FG/RR settinhgs.
