It's a loud speaker indeed and you will hear it outdoors. No need to worry there! You could check out one in a phone shop maybe?

I'm also back to this thread looking for a good ROM, bored of ugly TouchWiz. I rarely use the TouchWiz features, but I'd like to retain SPen functionality as I do use it now and again. Like the look of Cyanogen mod but it's generic and not geared for TouchWiz.

Other's that I'm looking at:
  • monxDIFIED ROM
  • Paranoid Android

I don't have a reason to want to flash a custom ROM, other than I'm bored and want new things to play with. iOS has spoiled me with its hype of new software and features - haven't had anything decent other than 4.1.2 and all that did that I can remember is allow me to customise the quick toggles.

Any recommendations would be appreciated!
 
Something strange seems to be happening with my Note 2, I say strange could be me being stupid.

I have deleted stuff off the phones internal storage via a pc and the phone itself but after a reboot, it is still there.

Is there anything else I could do other than a Facotry Reset? Which I am considering, as I haven't really paid much attention to my phone in terms of roms/keeping it clean for 6 months so It needs a new life of sorts.

I've got a Note 2 on its way to me for early next week, and still doing some reading up, and came across this amazon review

"On the iphone I had different sounds for different notifications so I could tell if it was email, reminder, text message. This phone is limited and I can only differentiate between text messages and emails/reminders"

Is this true? I hope not, Android being mega customisable :confused:
 
Nope, I have different sounds and LED colours for:

ringtone (different tones for different groups of people)
SMS
email (different notification for different gmail accounts)
facebook messenger
alarms
google tasks reminders
calendar reminders

Remember that most people who write these reviews are complete morons.

Ah sweet, thought that might be the case!

Do you need an app to change LED colours?
 
Right guys, without reading a plethora of information can you lot help me :D?

I'd like to root my note 2, and find a decent 4.3 rom.

How do I go about rooting (whats the best/easiest way etc). Whats the best way to load up roms? I used to use wanams roms on my s2 i think.

What mods should I look out for?
I'd quite like to get an sview case and have seen an sview/multiwindow mod for deodexed roms.
I'd also like to keep s-pen functionality (when i lookedages ago roms didnt include spen use etc)


I am going through xda, but just wondering of the best/most efficient ways you guys have chosen :)
 
Finally going to be sending my note 2 lte back to ee to check for a fault as it has terrible signal- shame really as it has been flawless otherwise. It just can't find signal in far too many places and I was getting constant signal drops.

Anyone here have poor signal issues? My htc wildfire s was able to get signal using my ee sim and in the same place my note 2 could not :(
