*** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note II Thread ***

Has anyone updated their Note 2 to 4.3? I updated mine and it kept freezing and the screen would go black and then a system error message would be displayed. I carried out a factory reset and now it appears to be behaving itself. Has anyone else had any problems with this update?

Ditto on that. Installed the update, proceeded (albeit slowly) and its behaved itself ever since :) And the battery life issue, where it would drain for unknown reasons, has been fixed as well :D

Shame I'm getting rid of it next month for a Nexus 5 as its a brilliant phone. Shame it doesn't support LTE or I'd keep it :(

Has anyone managed to get the SMS notification to work in the same way as before? If you turn off the lock screen preview in SMS settings, you still get the same full rectangular block on the lock screen, albeit without the message context text. It's annoying to get a large rectangle simply stating that there is an SMS message from an SMS sender.

I went from 4.1.2 stock to cyanogenmod 10.2 for a while but it was still buggy with a lot of apps crashing out.
I ended up using the latest 4.3 rom (at the time) from the indian market of all places and when used with nova launcher looks and runs great as I wasnt a fan of the Samsung look on the home screen.
The only thing I miss from CM10.2 is the circular battery indicator on the top notification row.

Any ideas when there will be an update for the sim free version? It's rather annoying that they now hold back updates until the carriers release their own

My note 2 is sim free and I received the update a few days ago. I had to check for the update manually on the phone.
