****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Not a fan myself. Can't see the point in getting a sleek, thin phone only to stuff it into a case that adds bulk and makes it more of a hassle to use.

Guys if youre going to hotlink stupid amount of images for no real reason, at least please put them in quote tags so that people dont start quoting them and the thread doesnt turn into a mass of pics.

Holy giant images batman!

I like some of those but personally I just like to use a high quality leather slip pouch.

Sena should make one shortly.

How durable are these or the SGS1?
Need to replace my milestone and am tempted by one of these and dealing with a touch screen keyboard for a short period of time till the Milestone 3 comes out. Milestone will survive decent drops onto concrete with ease... (smashed the screen once but that seemed a freak accident, have had much more serious drops since then) but after playing with a friends SGS1 it doesn't feel so solid at all...

I don't mind putting them in quotes, although that really is the job of the person quoting my post. And I don't hotlink. Oh and there's only two images on each of my posts. Not a stupid amount or for no real reason.

just got my phone yesterday and I am truly amazed! best phone Ive ever had so far.

Jealous... care to give us some more thoughts on it? :)

The images are large in total, and you could easily just link to the product pages, as they were also posted earlier in the thread. As for quote tags being the responsibility of the person quoting them... well, personally as a long-standing member I like to be a bit more realistic and realise that people will just quote them regardless, so feel it doesnt hurt do do your bit by making a small effort when originally posting them, but hey each to their own I guess. :)

Hope to be getting my phone next week via the o2 deal...

I'd like to protect the phone - can anyone recommend a skin and screen protector? Something local or off UK eBay. Never had a wrap around case/skin but so far found TPU seems the best material balance of not too sticky or rock hard, it'll still slide out of your pocket i believe. Also, anyone tried the InvisibleShield screen protectors, is there any truth in the hype?

We probably could do with an accessories thread tbh.... It's a shame it's been the bank holidays cos I think that's delayed getting accessories out, I've got the phone but I am so paranoid I'll drop it (it feels so fragile) or that I'll scratch the screen I really want the martin fields screen protectors to come out for it, and a decent case too....

With this phone I would really get a hard case I think, so that it can add some rigidity and structural integrity. The leather ones look lovely, but not sure how they would fare in drops etc?

Well a soft leather one would fare better than a hard one as it would absorb some of the impact, would it not?

Would be a great idea, there are just too many accessories out there to choose from... seems a little hit and miss what is good quality. The MS protectors sound good too

I did of course search the thread and found no reference to Zenus or Tridea cases? Images highlight and help bring what I believe to be an excellent product to other members attention. I'll 'do my bit' and replace them with thumbnails. As a long-standing member I can't say I've ever felt the need to be quite so patronising as to assume what others will or won't do.

Having owned a Zenus, I went through a multitude of cases before settling on the Zenus. They use a solid insert in the flip front that should serve to protect the glass from impact. I tend to forget I'm carrying it and for example lean over a job, crush the phone. The quality is second to none I've found, but you do pay for it. They also design it with what could be described as corner bumpers, although it looks quite exposed at the edges. The top of the flip case overhangs and provides corner protection in a fall.

For all the talk of Gorilla glass, the cut out for the home button has to create a stress point. Going by reports, a few SGS screens have been shattered with minimal impact from a short fall or knock.

For reference in case anyone is ever looking for new screen > SMSNG6100230

^It's just a shame all the pics are lumped together (one example would do)

Yep, the leather will stop any chips/dents to the plastic + the phones light enough to avoid any major damage from drops.

The Rocketfish one I have for my iPhone 4 is perfect really, £19.99 from CPW, decent quality etc.

Anything like that will do nicely.

With regards to a thread for accessories, it probably isn't a great idea as everyone is going to ask in here anyway :p
