****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I've installed that widget lock application and didn't like it so uninstalled.

However - now the pattern trace lock screen seems to have a bug. It's not tracing my finger!

There is a vid of the problem here:

Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks!

Cant say im impressed with the battery so far. My bold cud manage 2 days pretty well but it was pretty much just messanger calls and browsing net. Heres my battery usage from this morning. Its already down to 34%.

I've had a flick thru this thread regarding HSDPA speeds on T-Mobile contracts bought from buymobilephones.net.

I've only been getting 300kbps via HSDPA in various locations. I read that there's a speed cap.
So I've just called T-Mobile directly (not buymobilephones) and the staff member was saying something that resellers (carphone, buymobilephones) only add a 'basic' free internet bolt-on, which has speed caps.
But because im using an Android phone, he said he would remove the basic internet bolt-on, and change it to an android one.

I've just found the following info on the t-mobile website under the flexible boosters link (http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/shop/pay-monthly/boosters/)...

Internet for 'always-on' phones (Android™ and Windows® Mobile)
If your phone needs an 'always-on' internet connection, internet will be included in your price plan, so you can choose a different Flexible Booster. This will be highlighted on the phone overview page.

I shall be quoting this once my Galaxy arrives! :)

I'm about to order one of these from 02 & have registered with Topcashback to get the £90 cashback. I intend to go for the £27 pm 300 mins/500MB internet/unlimited texts + £50 for the handset.

I have held off buying what will be my first ever smartphone awaiting the right one to come on the market. I had thought of waiting a bit longer for the HTC Sensation but just comparing the two phones in terms of spec & the Samsung just seems superior.

Just wanted to ask for some advice on buying online - anything I need to watch out for using TCB or ordering directly through the 02 site?

Many thanks.

Personally I use a different browser for cashback websites, just to ensure my normal browsing and add-ons don't interfere. Firefox is my main browser, so I use Chrome for TCB and Quidco. Hasn't failed me yet.

Has anyone tried putting music on the phone? Having an absolute nightmare with tagging. Im guessing i'll have to make sure everything is properly tagged before i put it onto the phone? What would be the best way to go about this, had been using itunes so assumed everything would be tagged nicely but i was sorely mistaken.

I just ditched the default player due to it not recognising tags and used PowerAMP, solved all my tagging issues instantly.

yeah delete cookies and crud. if you wanna make super sure, reboot :D - load up website go direct to cashback site and follow links, dont open up any other browsers, you will be fine.

i once lost £50 cash back as i was using comparable sites and quidco at the time said they had been credited with the link :(

OK, thanks for the advice.

Am I definitely doing the right thing getting this phone compared to what else is on sale now or should I wait for the Sensation?

I havent checked the last few pages but as anyone else mentioned some of the little secrets of hos device?

Hold your finger on the notification bar for a second or 2 the slide it back and forth along the bar too adjust screen brightness

In settings, about this phone keep tapping android version repeatedly and some zoombie artwork will appear

In app draw pinch to see all pags

The above might be known already but its always useful

heh, knew the other two but this one is very random :p

Cheers Robbo

Hopefully place the order later. My K800i is probably a few months out of date!
I reckon I will be blown away by the technology & probably complexity of the thing compared to what I have been using.

Would anyone know if you have the option to keep your O2 number when buying from their website? I am currently on PAYG simplicity and haven't paid monthly with them before but would like to hold onto my number if possible.
