****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Hopefully speaking for many former SGS1, now SGS2 users when I say that the latter phone is a very distinct step (or two) up in usability from the former, even with a finely-tuned modded ROM.

NB - Current/former LauncherPro(+) advocates.
Give 'Go Launcher EX' a try - I'm finding it an improvement in most ways (especially as a non-user of LP's widgets)

Well, the SGS II has very few flaws... and all (or the vast majority of) the ones that plagues the original SGS have now been addressed, as well as the specs massively increased.

I hope your both correct but hw long before Some as yet unknown gremlins appear? Ih the SGS it was about 2 weeks for me .

Hopefully I'm talking crap but just thought I'd raise a valid point about the SGS. If all things remain rosey ith sgs2 then I'll be diving in soon as well:p

When are you getting yours Richdog?

I remember you made the thread for the original Galaxy S, and then said the iPhone looked better :p :D

Hah yeah its been a long road... I should be getting mine in the middle of this month though! I still think the iPhone 4 is a wee bit better than the original SGS, but this phone blows it out of the water imo, it really is a true generational leap above both the original SGS and the iPhone 4.

I am literally desperate to get my hands on this phone now, currently stranded with a Nokia C6 after my crappy Milestone died! *weeps*

I'm intrigued, what 'easier solution' is on the horizon?

More user friendly guide and the method than the one Chainfire posted before he went away (unless hes updated it since).

Yeah, I would (and did) take the iPhone 4 over the SGS, until now nothing has really made it worth losing the superior app store :p

You must be having fun with that C6! :D

Am I the only one feeling a somewhat bittersweet sense of excitement regarding apples next move, in light of how beastly this phone is?

I mean, they can't seriously be thinking of an slightly incremental update, not with the phone market being what it will be by september or whenever they decide to bring their next phone out.

Agreed but the SG was the best gadget back in July time 2010 everyone was singing it's praises but in retrospect it was pretty crap or average atbest with it's lagging features etc etc.

A lot of people noticed the problems including myself which is why I stayed with the HTC Desire. I'll be getting an SGS 2 though as soon as refurbs are available.

If by "having fun", you mean rebooting every couple of hours or so due to recieving a "General memory full, close some applications and try again" message
that won't **** off unless I turn it off and on, then yes, im having a whale of a time. :p
