****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Requesting Richdog is renamed to "Google it Mother****er!"

Apologies if i'm like a broken record with all the "Google it" stuff, but one of my personal pet hates is people asking questions and using naturally helpful people as their personal assistants, just because they can't be arsed to spend a few minutes actually looking for an answer to what is often a simple question before they post. I find it rude and highly irritating, especially when the guilty party is often a member that's been here a good while and should know better!

No need to apologise old chap, I actually agree and was joking! :p

I googled first for samsung galaxy android 3 which resulted in a few results which I now realise to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab and not the Samsung Galaxy Phone.

Cheers for the other replies though, they were helpful.

When the Ice Cream Sandwich comes, are all Android phones then able to update to that? Or do I have to wait or Samsung to make their mark on it and then release it for download?

Just found a Royal Mail note in the post, going go pick it up now. Hope I'm not disappointed compared to my 3GS.

Edit : So I may be on with some questions later, I'll be sure to spend plenty of time on google before consulting you Richdog ;)

Looks like Voda will be adding bloatware yuk. Check out this statment..no link this time:p
"There have been a number of unanticipated issues during the software approval for Galaxy S 2.

The next phase of testing is scheduled for Friday 13th. We'll provide an update on Monday 16th with the latest information on timings.

If the device passes testing with Google on Friday, we'll be able to confirm despatch dates for preorders in our Monday update. If not, we'll give as much information as we can."

1.51GB free for App storage, and I have about 100 apps installed. So nice not having to worry about app storage :p

I suggest people check out some news apps that are well suited to such a big screen!

CNN, MSNBC, Pulse, New York Times and Huffington Post

I really am struggling with the battery, i have to charge it as soon as i get home from work each night. One thing i've noticed is that my phone says it's 'awake' even when the screen is off...

Does that mean an app is running in the background using all my battery??

Heres the problem with that..google doesnt usually now come back with a direct easy to read stright forward link to help answer the question, you usually get links to drawn out atricles that blather on about it, not making it very clear or consise and is usually borken up by ads etc.

Really then is their any more questions to be ansewsed here about this phone?..the thread has pretty much covered most things so can we jsut close it up?..or should we jsut stop using the forum and jsut Google absolutly everything in the hope we get a direct ansewer?

Also im asking here..in a MOBILE FORUM, I get that there will be repeat questions etc, but its why im here, new to android etc..here to ask questions, its why people join forums.

Like asking for casses..why?...we could jsut good le it right?...or do we want feedback from other users that have used said case etc.

Yeah fits it fine all the cuts are in the right place of the case.

Cool cheers Jabbs i'll check it out.

You dont need to explain how forums work to me, i've been a member for a good while now. What what I posted is simply good netiquette, and saying "But its a forum, we're here to ask questions" is not an excuse for some people shamelessly milking other members goodwill by asking stupidly obvious questions that we all know are a direct result of laziness. If someones had a search and can't find the answer then fair enough, ask away, but it's really not hard to figure out the people who have thought about things before posting, and the people who can't be arsed and are relying on others to make the effort for them. And no, I wasnt talking about people asking for feedback on cases, obviously thats normal. Anyway nuff said, back to discussing the phone. :)
