Samsung need to take a leaf out of Apple's book and get something to market within a month of announcing it. They are utterly hopeless.

We probably wont see this for at least a couple more months yet.

The SGS2 is considerably superior to the Optimus 3D unless you want a 3D screen (which I would bet will be more of a gimmick than anything else).
 
From the specs i don't think you can say SGS2 is considerably better. It has more RAM and a better Screen but the CPU power is very similar and the Optimus has a better GPU. Overall i would prefer the SGS2 but there pretty similar overall.
 
Well considering the extra power of the GPU wont often get used and the fact the whole 3D thing is going to be a gimmick, the SGS2 is the better phone for me.

The FPS of the 1080p on the SGS2 is better, and I'm willing to bet its camera will be better also.

The SGS2 has a better battery, and probable overall lower power consumption. You already mentioned the screen.

Lastly, the 3D is made by LG, which isn't great news in itself, but we'll see :p

Obviously either phone could have a load of awful drawbacks we wont know about until they are properly released, but thats my view so far.

I'm probably going to wait and get an iPhone 5 (if its good) anyway though considering this might not be out for months yet and it will go nicely with the iPad2 I'm planning on getting at the end of this month :p :(
 
I just lost my HTC Desire, having to make do with a HTC Wildfire (it's like a Desire, only slower and poor screen!)

Annoyed about the ambiguity around the SGS2 release data, I am due an upgrade in a few weeks...I have an iPad and tempted by the iPad 2, possibly even an iPhone 5 if it has the same power etc.
 
MAY! wtf i was hoping now or at least in March, its a joke... i hate apple, but they have a press conference and simply release stuff.. how can Samsung have a final working version in Jan and then have to wait almost half a year for release .. pfffff

ROFL i hope HTC bring out something very soon that will cut into their early sales.
