****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Is there any confirmation on just how much thicker the NFC version of the phone is? I'm not that miffed at not having NFC as I don't see myself using it at all any time this side of whenever but would be interested in knowing how much bulk the chip adds!

I would think only a mm or two, realistically. By the time NFC is of any use the SGS III will be out, so im not overly bothered at the lack of it to be honest... though it would have been nice to have

Will be interesting to see how this fragments the case market. If the non-NFC version is phased out when the NFC version is released i can't see case manufacturers bothering with the old design.

Anyone updated to KE2? Just done mine (and rooted, natch) and the autobrightness is definitely more neutral now, nice!

I just flashed mine using Odin to KE2 (Kies always showing DLL error for me), but I have autobrightness switched off from day 1 :D

Wow 2 days am 23Hrs and 21 mins in and down too 28% this is with just over 2 hours of calls

Not too surprising, that. I made my first call over the weekend - I'd been avoiding any use of my tariff until I was sure I was going to get out of the cooling off period - and when I checked my battery usage that night it said I'd used 5% on calls in a total call duration of 9 minutes 21 seconds. I know it's not battery trouble as with careful use (i.e. not too much Drag Racing or Angry Birds) it doesn't scream for a recharge until past the 36-hour mark. Nine hours of talk time appears to be overestimating the situation by a factor of three.
