I configured my Hotmail account with the standard mail app and GMail in the Gmail app, but somehow it seems to be pulling in the hotmail messages as well. :(

It's a setting in your gmail account, not in the phone app :)

The buttons are actually very good, they feel solid and dont move around at all (even the iPhone 4 buttons move around!).

The less said about the N8 the better... ;)

Anyway, my Proporta case has come, its actually for the Desire HD (as I suspected) but it fits the SGS II perfectly and it doesn't move around at all and its a fairly tight fit. Feels very well made, its just what I wanted :)

The case has a metal plate in the front of it, which actually seems a good idea as it offers the screen another level of protection against anything sharply hitting the front of the case. It wont stop a bullet a though, incase any of you are going on holiday to Libya :p

It does not stick out at all at the top, just for the record. Its about 1mm under the top of the leather.

Proporta have this case for the Desire HD listed as in stock on their site, but for the Galaxy S2 it's only available for pre-order. Are you saying they're both definitely the same product? If they are I'll just order the Desire HD version!

That stock did arrive but i believe it was used to forfill older back orders as i ordered my p2go on the 4th and my phone was sent on the 17th and i got it yestarday.
 
I'm not normally one to ask questions without reading the whole thread first, but given the length of this one:

Can anyone tell me if the versions currently on sale (specifically at The Carphone Warehouse) actually have NFC? It's just that I read something that suggested they don't. I'm very close to getting one, provided they do have NFC; if not I'll just wait.

None have nfc yet as far as I know. Can I ask why it's a killer feature for you?

No they do not, in my opinion though even if it did it would be uselss as nothing interesting is using NFC yet.
 
Well whatever I replace my current phone (HTC Hero) with, I will probably run for two years or so. Given NFC is likely to take off in that time (at least, I hope it does, because it's a really good idea), I would be pretty peeved if a year down the line NFC is becoming useful and I don't have a compatible phone.
