****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I don't see the whole nvidia games market really taking off in a massive way, nvidia would need to overturn the massive market share powervr have on the mobile market which isn't going to happen anytime soon (lets face it, the tegra 2 is only just competitive with the SGX540 which is 'old' tech for powervr)

No, instead I think you'll see the major games developers developing for the normal android market for the far bigger customer base.

So yeah, I'd go for the Exynos, if there was an option...

This might answer a few question about chipsets and the like, remember one phone is running "froyo and the other gingerbread. one is pre release etc etc.
check out the LG Star verse a pre release SGSII (not clocked to 1.2 and pre release)

Nice review but disappointed the screen isn't as bright or as sharp as the iPhone 4...unless I'm missing something?

Why would you be missing something, you can read can't you?

We were surprised to see that the SuperAMOLED Plus screen is no brighter than the previous generation used in the original Galaxy S.

Not much to miss there really is there.

Never going to be unless they increased the resolution of the screen, you have to remember the I4 is 3.5"@ 640 x 960 pixels, where as this is a 4.3"@800x480, it is a shame they never bumped the resolution up.

I would be surprised if it isn't brighter that has been my experience from Super amoled they are better in the sun and in general just look so much better on every front apart from the I4's resolution which makes everything look pin sharp (going from the galaxy s), will have to see Ill let you know when I have one in my hand.

not really. it's a lower resolution than the iphone 4 and its a bigger screen, so it wont be as sharp. I doubt it really makes much of a difference though. the brightness thing is interesting though, but i imagine that's down to the iphone 4 being back lit and the sgs II being oled. the black levels at full brightness would suggest this.

Samsung have just gone and ruined the front by sticking their miserable logo on it:

How very dare they go advertising the fact they've produced something by placing their brand name on it, I for one won't be purchasing this now, it's ruined the asthetics, shocking really!

I wouldn't take it that far dude... I'm still getting it. It's a shame Samsung didn't have the balls to lose the front logo like apple do.

So what are you getting instead of the SGS2 then snapdragon :p

Oh sorry thought the sarcasm level in my post was off the scale lol

I will be getting the SGS2 logo or not lol, apple lose the front logo because they don't care if you know you have bought an apple product, they just want the rest of the world to know you have which is why they stick that big fat logo on the back :D
