****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Well, I took my phone off charge at 6am this morning, and it's now at 94% with light usage (1 quick call, a few texts) so that's 1.2% drain per hour. Seems to be getting better as time goes on with the new KE7. I'll have to see how it goes :p

To be fair, you can't ask for much more than that :)

Ok, done and seems to work with no issues. Sound is deifnitely better, but not sure if the video quality is much different given the large increase in filesize?

I have to agree tbh done a few tests videos and they all look the same blown up but the sound makes a difference for sure.

Definitely pleased with the battery life on this. It's been on the go for 22 hours with some fairly heavy use and I still have 37% left. Great phone :)

What is the best custom dialer? Is there one that looks like the iPhone dialer? It looks so much better than the Samsung one :(

GPS shouldn't really matter unless he's got an app that's constantly trying to geolocate?

What software version is the phone on?
KE7. Considering going back to KE2 to see how it goes, or wipe the phone and stay on KE7, and see how it goes without making any changes to the basic software.

Worth a suggestion to the modder methinks.

Its already done he has different versions to use, if you just want the audio fix download his first file or if you want the sound and higher bit rate get the one in second post as well as the HyperX version that has more choice of higher bit rates.

Edit my bad thought there was a 48KHz one out.

Well I charged my phone this morning and now at 3.50 I have 9% left :( but I did hammer the GPS for like 4 hours. But should the GPS usage show up on the batter status page? As it hasn't on mine.

I have also turned off the hubs etc so not sure whats drained it so much. Also I keep seeing when I go into Advanced Task Manager that the BBC Iplayer app keeps appearing even after I stop it, anyone know why?

tbh i've noticed the battery on this thing to be quite random, some days i get around 8 hours, others i've had 27 hours! Today looks like I might get around 20 or so... fully charged at 8.30 this morning, at 5pm, it's now on 60%

Quick question, I have an in car charger for my HTC Desire. Will this work with the Galaxy S II?

Yes

I turn data on and off via holding the power button in for a second - might do the same thing, just a little quicker.

Not the same thing im afraid what that does is turn of the "packet data" which will turn off your mobile internet but will stop you from sending and recieving MMS. MMS is not the same as sms be advised:confused:

Is it worth waiting a short while (i'm in no rush) for a later revision of the SG2 so that the initial bugs/glitches etc what some of the handsets have are wheened out?
Also I see there's a revised version with NFC coming. No idea what use that is to anyone really and might just be something else to drain the battery.

What bugs? everything that's an issue can be software resolved (or has been via the devs).

The NFC model is not as thin as the current model either! Plus., why would NFC drain the battery? It's not constantly running in the background.
