****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Cases in stock! Might order one to protect from Day 1.

FlexiShield Skin For Samsung Galaxy S II they look very similar to the cheapo S line series I have for my DHD which are very decent cases for the £3ish I paid for!

It has gorilla glass right? I'm sure I saw a video review where the screen was being scratched by a large object. Anyone have a link for it please?

With my previous 4.3" phones I'd always be worried about marking the screen and never handled the phone the way I would have liked.

And why put a case on a slim phone. I bought a few cases for my Nexus S but always removed them after a few days because they spoilt the lines of the phone.

gah that's a point, going to need a new holder for my car.

Samsung already have a desk stand and car holder for the SGS, there's a review on YouTube from Norway IIRC. However the car holder looks a bit fiddly, I'll just get another passive holder for my Brodit mount.

Personal preferences, I usually put on a case when out and about at work etc just for the added protection andme I have a habit of dropping things lol!

How did you find TouchWiz? Also the screen how gorgeous is it?

screen is outstanding. Viewing angles are crisp and clear. The phone still has cheap phone feel to it imo but not as bad as the original. It tries to look like an iphone too much imo.

And touchwiz i have never liked its just too clutterd and feels like an iphone clone, Most people will be ditching it for Laucnher pro or some sort of rom.

Camera looks very good but hard to judge inside an exhbition center.

Phone is VERY slim and was very snappy but then again i have never felt android was too slow anyway.

It was on Expansys stand at Gadget Show and it was £549.99 pre order

i wonder what contracts will be like. £500 is a lot, too much for me, my hero currently sells for £66, well the last time i checked, so around £166 on contract i can do if it's right price per month as i only ever receive calls for work, i rarely make them. i don't want to wait months for it to be cheaper as i hate my hero now for far too many reasons.

I don't understand why they would release it on a bank holiday why not get it out the week before, think of the people having bbq's etc and would love to take some footage with this phone.

Not sure if serious...

I'll lend you my Hero for a week then, it's terrible these days, all since the official 2.2 update. It was so much quicker before.

Depends how much you want to spend really as it seems to be free on a £35 contract atm.

Just a quick scan you could get this, better deals will show up i bet too.

The Hero is dreadful compared to the current gen phones so you're in for a treat. It will be £30-35 on a 24 month contract, possibly with X months free or half price, the usual.
