I think i may have to get this phone haha. I fancied the Nexus 2 or HTC Sensation but this looks very nice and the speed to match.

That is fast but with the rom I got on the Optimus X2 stock I have had over 3k and over-clocked too 1.2 gig have hit 3726.

Yeah but this was clocked the same as the SGS2 1.2ghz I might try it on 1.5 as some are using it.

WHY do people use Quadrant as a benchmark, especially with custom ROMs where the 'devs' tweak their kernels/ROMs to artiificially boost results with little or no real life effect?

I generally don't but as a link was posted with the SGS2 clocked at that I thought i do the same and post some results.

I know Modoco has found some issues with the file system on the X2 which was causing some problems and has put right what LG messed up and with this installed people are getting 3k mark with that on stock rom, but its more how the phone feels than the benchmark speed you know if things have made any difference.

A new video posted yesterday showing more of the interface in action looks really nice have to say, think I would be happy with the Samsung UI as it looks fast and fluid.

A great bit of news...

The video player had absolutely no trouble with any of the files we threw at it – starting with .WMV, through .AVI (DivX and XviD) and .MP4 to .MKV (H.264). Resolution wasn’t a problem either – the Samsung Galaxy S II played FullHD files. Large files of over 2GB worked as well.

Some release date shuffles seem to be happening in the some of the larger on-line stores.

Play - 29th April
Amazon - 27th April

No actual date mentioned on the likes of Clove and Expansys.

People who have played the release game before do any of the stockist have earlier stock and/or release dates? Currently have a pre-order in with Expansys but I'm more than happy to change to any supplier of the same price that will ship earlier.

I still stand by my original opinion that this does give the HTC Sensation a good lashing with a large stick.

The only info I've recived from Expansys was when I asked if I could pick the item up as there based two streets away:

That's not be possible as there is only finance/IT department left in
Manchester and all order are shipped directly from supplier to the

So my fingers are crossed that Samsung/UK supplier ship as soon as they have stock, and maybe try and beat the bank holiday release situation.

Im sure, erm, BBQ footage was not on their highest list of priorities when releasing the phone.
