Just seen some official accessories are shortly on the way:

Genuine Samsung Extended Battery Case http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/genuine-samsung-galaxy-s-ii-extended-battery-case-p28950.htm

The Kick stand case looks pretty nice methinks. :)

I can't for the life of me find out how thick this extended battery is even with my Google-Fu... anyone else care to try in case i'm just being daft, blind or both? :)

With the Samsung Galaxy S II being so thin to start with, it's likely that the extra battery pack may not be a deal-breaker in terms of thickness.

if you can't unlock it then is it worth buying it on o2?

my work colleague had his iphone 4 unlocked, he just got a sim an spoke to online chat and they unlocked it, didn't have to wait 12months

Feel like i'm talking to myself here :p

Flac tags don't seem to be read properly, foobar and winamp are happy with them, but the S2 doesn't seem to recognise the track number, hence why it's ordering them by track name

Anyone experienced this yet?

Download powerAMP from the market. The best FLAC player by miles...

Still, it can be resolved by a third party unlock if O2 are awkward/useless.

It's not being awkward/useless it's about running a business. Operators don't make any money out of selling PAYG phones for them to then be used on different networks. Perhaps this one is even being subsidised at that price.

That lump on the top looks rather terrible though.

I couldn't tell you any exact figures, but from what i can tell the battery is actually at the base of the phone, not the back. So it adds more length than it does thickness.

With that said, i wouldn't say one is needed unless you plan to spend several days away from a wall socket without a charge. I've been playing with it quite heavily since this morning and still have 52% battery with all power saving settings at stock.

Well that goes without saying, the useless comment was with regard to customer service talking out of their backsides, like most networks do.

Yes, because PayG iPhones are sold at full price and networks like to make up special magical rules for the iPhone stuff :p

From O2 Online Chat:
Please understand that when you ordered the phone online the mobile phone was in stock with us. However, there are a lot of people ordering the phone at a time on our website. So when your order was being processed the phone was out of stock with us.

O2 will probably have lots of stock at the larger stores on the 3rd.

Good tip, recognises them like a dream. Can't seem to find a library mode, though i organise my folders well so that's not a huge deal breaker.

The library button (albums, artists, playlists etc) is on the bottom right + loads of sorting options in the menu. It really is a great piece of software :)

Is that going to be o2's price for it on payg or some sort of special deal they are running? Sorely contemplating punting my iphone for one of these.

Ooh good to know Streeteh, thanks. I may just buy a spare battery then in case of emergency. :)

Also I have one of these, the Proporta USB TurboCharger 3400, and I advise anyone to do the same, they're a complete lifesaver http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=4662&t_mode=des
