****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

It's interesting if the £399 is agenuine, profit making price, explains how we can get deals like £35pm for 18 months with the phone for free from 3rd parties.

Places selling it for £499+ must have been making a nice markup (assuming the £399 is profitable).

Also extremely impressive, cheaper than the iPhone 4 and leagues ahead.

that's a lot of money for an extra 16GB.

well i've ordered through buymobilephones.net. gone with tmobile on £30 per moth for 18 months. by far the cheapest. really hoping reception is fine on this phone if not it'll go back and voda will be the only choice. really can't wait to get it. wish i had ordered weeks ago and had it today

Nope thats why I didnt get the order confirmation email the online customer service agent said.

Well, we can hope its not going to be a LONG wait, but £100 is..well...£100, plus my current contract is pretty good so happy to makea bit of a wait..wonder how long it coudl take tho :(

Yeah that is a lot extra, even a 32gb micro SD would be much cheaper.

Went for the same deal and as long as I get it by the end of next week i'll be happy.

Anyone buying T-mobile contracts via thirdparty retailers should be aware that by default your data speeds will be crippled. You will not be on 'web and walk plus' and will therefore only be receving 3g speeds, even if your phone is showing that you are connected via HSDPA. Had to ring them up and got someone to sort it for me and put me on the correct data package when I bought my last phone, though if you buy an android phone direct from T-Mobile then you are fine.

Remember when Burger King used a bloke with really small hands to advertise their Whopper and make it look bigger than it is?

Well, maybe Samsung should employ me as a hand model for the exact opposite reason, looks tiny in my paddle hands :D

One annoyance, you can only add a maximum of 10 numbers to each text so if you want to sms everyone your new number (like me) you'll have to do it in stages.

You can download texting apps off the android market which let you text everyone in your phonebook. :)

Samsung keyboard is also fairly naff in comparison to the vanilla gingerbread one.

What's the difference between the free and paid for gingerbread keyboard?

Streeteh - are you talking about 'Keyboard from Android 2.3 ' app?

I use the free gingerbread keyboard

Added features for paid:
1. 6 Keyboard themes
2. Custom vibrator intensity
3. Custom key height, text size, row gap, bottom adjustment.
4. Long press "Enter" key to bring up smiley alternatives.
5. Options to hide period and comma key.
6. Split main keyboard app and dictionaries.
7. Custom Keytap volume
8. Cursor Keys

I will absolutely cancel my order if that's the case. Utterly unacceptable that these sorts of stupid restrictions are in place these days.
