****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

I've tried it with D4rom, as it annoyed me that the phone-mode Google Music widget doesn't have album art. Tablet mode wasn't worth keeping simply for the better Google Music widget though, the ridiculous DPI made the ROM barely usable.

Per app DPI should help a lot though, I'll have another look once it's all worked out.

A trick was to make the text huge in D4/system settings to make things a bit more usable but too many apps/icons overlapped. D4 has been great for me though using 240 DPI.

So I've got 6 months left on my GS2 contract. Thinking of selling it, paying off the £150 either all at once (?) or monthly and get a new GS3 contract?

Wise or dumb?

You could sell the S II and then get an upgrade when your contract is finished and sell that?

As for upgrading to the S III, that's your choice, but it's definitely is an upgrade for me. Better screen, better audio performance and probably better battery life. I might just wait it out if I don't like it, when I get around to playing around with one. The S II is still perfectly fine for me and better than a lot of phones.

The problem at the moment is finding a reasonably contract deal - everything on mobiles.co.uk or buymobilephones.net are massively overpriced against the handset value. This may be understandable to some but back when the GS2 was released there were some cracking deals to be had on it.

Indeed, it'll be on the £21/month (low minutes, reasonable data) and £27/month (higher minutes, higher data) deals within a month of launch most likely. Perhaps even sooner.

Started trying a few new keyboards but I can't seem to get on with swift key sure to the symbol and number layout but I'm liking Swype so far.

Fix permissions has always worked when I've had market issues

Stopped using the swiftkey beta.. for some reason when clicking on text to move the curser, it goes crazy and won't let me click anywhere :p

I am assuming the 223mb update I am downloading from my phone (after performing a manual update check) is ICS? Thought it was only going to be available via Kies on PC? I have the offline non network version of the phone.
