Roots a root. To be fair it's not that different from the normal CF-roof. You just have to push all the root files manually or use Superoneclick. I'd be far more inclined to use the KDD root access kernel it if I had KDD on it anyway. I don't like mix and match kernel/build. By the time Chainfire gets back to write CF-Root proper there will more than likely be another newer build to flash anyway.

I'm looking for something like Hardcore's kernel with integrated CWM and a few tweaks to the kernel. Of course this means waiting on the sorce code to be released by Samsung.

Has anyone on O2 upgraded to this phone via the online upgrade process from inside your account? I had a ganders a few days ago and it wasn't one of the listed phones, probably as it hasn't technically been released yet.
 
Picked one up from P4U yesterday, bloke gave me a free 8gb SanDisk card for it too. Loving it so far! Still getting used to the keyboard (Space bar is close to the full stop) and I still havent found a way how to capitalise I's in sentences. Brilliant phone though

Hi,

This is exactly what I have done although not completed yet (still waiting before transfer)

I phoned and asked if I could buy the payg phone and upgrade my existing contract to it, which they confirmed was possible, but I should order online as you are required to put a minimum of £10 on a payg in store.

I have ordered the phone and upon arrival shall be upgrading from my current 3G device to this.

One word of warning, dont choose the simplicity deal when ordering if you intend to upgrade. The simplicity deal is a contract that has a term and so you would have to buy out if you do this (I know because this happened to me when I wanted the phone7 (glad I waited now)).

If you want to wait I will keep posted when I have completed!
 
Anyone having a problem charging the SG2 ?

Ive just got mine from P4U and whenever i plug it in via USB or charger it stops charging almost immediately saying the battery is too hot or cold.
The phones doesnt feel very hot or cold so its a bit strange , ive had to turn it fully off to get it to charge.

as other said - call them up - doesn't show up in the online upgrade options.

I've just spoken to an operator in O2 and he confirmed that the phone is out of stock but they are having a shipment in tomorrow.

All being well we should receive our phones next week :D

I just phoned them up, tried to hassle a deal with them she started off saying £45 a month on the ONE plan, the best she would give me was £40 with a £72 charge for the phone, still too much IMO (its the same as £43/month) I've been there member for a good 8 years and my wifes with them too, she wouldn't even give me the loyalty discount.

I told her to phone me back on May 3rd, when it officially launches. I want £35/month with One plan. My contract ends in August....
