****The Official Samsung Galaxy S II Thread***

Is the default calendar under JB called 'S Planner' now?

Google now or what ever its called seems good.

A feature I was looking forward too which doesnt seem so good is 'smart stay'

In theory it's great. But I have just noticed it 'detects' Im looig at it, when Im not, meaning it could become a security issue where the phone doesnt auto lock as it thinks Im looking at the scree.

Bought a SG2 from someone the other day which is originally a Three phone. It has been unlocked and I am using with an o2 sim.

If i update via Kies could this possibly relock the phone again?

My phone downloaded the update itself and it installed ok but i cannot connect to my network (3)

It asks me to put my pin in - thats fine.

then asks me for a "SIM network unlock PIN" with the option to unlock or dismiss.

anyone know this code or how to get around it?

annoying!

I assume you bought this phone second hand? If not then contact 3 and they'll have it.

If it is second hand, the owner before you unlocked it. In which case you'll need to root and try something like galaxsim unlock (https://play.google.com/store/apps/...SwxLDEsImNvbS5zcG9ja3kuZ2FsYXhzaW11bmxvY2siXQ..)

I have been using JB for about a week now, after updating via kies and I must say it is all very nice except for the battery life.
Before with ICS I used to get on average about 18hrs before it would beep and warn me about low battery power, this is with WiFi and GPS on all the time. Now with JB it seems to be averaging about 12/13hrs before it beeps and warns me of low battery power, again with WiFi and GPS on all the time.

Now I see that some others have commented on JB having worse battery power consumption.
I find that JB has worse battery life than ICS tho.

And cjgardens suggests

Have you only just updated? It can take a few days for it to get back to normal

Well it is no different after a week.
Bloomfield suggests.

Try disabling "Samsung Push Service", it's only used for Samsung App Store notifications and it wakes the phone quite a bit :).

So I have tried that and I will see how it goes over the next week if there is any noticeable difference.
Is there any thing else I can do to help the situation other than turning off the features like WiFi and GPS, that worked fine with respectable battery power consumption under ICS, or is it going to have to be reflashed back to ICS?
