This thread is not representative of the real world. Only phone geeks care about the colour the rest of the world couldn’t give two hoots. You’ll soon become colour bore if you're not careful.

Actually I'd say in the 'real world' that the colour of the phone is more important than in a forum like this one. These are the same kind of 'normal' people that will go to a car supermarket and buy a car based on it being "the nice metallic blue one".

The white S2 with the capacitive button LEDs also looks washed out where the light bleeds around the button unlike the black one where it only goes through the seethrough bits on the button so yeah, that's another reason I'm always in two minds about white phones where lights are behind the white parts directly.

I have this problem on my white AT&T Note as well. I've turned off the button backlights now I know where they are by feel.

If only the thoughts of the OcUK community were a true representation of the general public. No one cares about colour.

But I still haven't come across a white phone as yet that I like... they all look a bit Fisher Price to me.

Extremely, I'd go as far to say this is iPhone territory for slick/responsiveness to touch.

Looks good in white too! But what do I know... I had a white HTC Hero.

It is excellent. I can only really compare it to what I've owned and used extensively which is an iP4, S2 and Galaxy Note. It feels like it has taken some of the best things from the three devices I've mentioned; (1) Smooth, responsive, very fluid like the iP4 (2) Compact, light and well built like the S2 (3) Nice big screen like the Note but much smaller overall.
