***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Tbh - if you don't notice it in day to day use after a few weeks - no point trying to find it.

This, 100%.

I only noticed it because i was playing with my phone on the first night in the dark lol. But its literally not visible in any form of lit environment even a dim light so its really a non issue.

Actually I dug out my 550 and tested it properly.

I can't see them when its dark normally, its only seems to be on the long exposure.

How does it look if you over expose the image, lots of Vita's look like this or worse.

Seems a pretty common defect with newer OLED displays, if you get a replacement it could end up worse.

Obviously a bit brighter and visible in a photo but my photo is representative of how it looks in real life, just a bit more exaggerated! Overexposing makes it seem worse than it is :p

That Vita looks terrible though

To those who own white... do you find the white border (as in, the physical frame) annoying or distracting when watching videos vs a dark coloured phone?

That is pretty much identical to mine right down to the "ring" and even the position of the ring LOL... Think I have similar amount of "dots" as well... Did we get the same batch ? :P

Its worth every penny as long as you have rooted your device.
The pro version will work on multiple phones with one license as well

I just rooted my phone and added TB. I had the old version where my licence key is on a .txt file as opposed to the paid licence on Marketplace. Just moved the key over to the S3 and it worked a charm :)

Not at all. I have sat here a white G3, white iPad3 & HP Touchpad (black). Not sure about the whole white phone issue. But as far as screens go I prefer the white border for watching video. I like the way it frames the image, highlighting colours and contrast. Makes everything more vibrant to my eye. And as a main screen white shows less fingerprints and seems to help with reflections as well, more of an issue with a pad of course.

I count at least 10 black pixels on my screen when looking at a black image in complete darkness, but only if I focus hard. Won't notice it at all anyways unless I fancy watching some exciting videos of total nothingness at night lol.

Is the Zagg Invisible Shield protector worth the money at around £12?

I bought a cheap one from a shop in town and the edges don't stick properly resulting in dust and dirt sticking to the edges which im worried might scratch the screen if any sand gets in there so i've taken it off now.

Home button lag removed by disabling S-Voice wake up option by double tapping home in S-Voice Settings :)

Joys!

I ordered 2x xtreme guard full body protection shields and 1x xtreme guard screen protector for $10 delivered from America, for the S3. I will fit one on my wifes S3 and see how it feels, I'll probably give the others away, but no case > a case all day long imo, my Notes been naked for months now.

If you want to take a gorgeous looking screen and look at it through a frosted orange peel of a sticker then yeah its good.
