***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Oh bugger, the coating on the home button has starting to come off. Samsung and its cheap materials, half temped to jump back to iPhone 5.

Decided to just make the whole button silver, so I polished off the purple coating.

My partners GS3 from T-Mobile has a symbol of an N with what looks like a wifi symbol in the bottom left. Anyone know what this is?
NFC, you can disable it in the "More Settings" section near the top of the settings menu.

Can someone link me or name me a good cheap SD card for this? :) Gathering I need one to flash a new rom?
You don't need one. I personally prefer to use one just so that I can clear any leftovers from the last install with ease.

If you do, I use a Verbatim Class 10 from Amazon, that's said to be a proper class 10, a Samsung card is also a good choice.

Tried that too still no luck, I guess it is a nightly for a reason!
Very odd, but it might be worth coming back to it later :)

I got my S3 from Orange today as an upgrade and all seems to be good.

The battery seems to go a bit fast but i think it will take a few charges.

The other thing i noticed is when you go into settings and about phone there is no software update option why is this?

I also purchased one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Leather-Flip-Galaxy-Anymode/dp/B0081YO4JK/ref=cm_cr_pr_sims_t

It's a pretty tight fit and seems really tight when closed from the top and and does not open and close very easy it is supposed to be so tight?

T-Mobile do the same. My mum's S3 doesn't have the Software Update button either but mine, which is also T-Mobile, does have it. Difference being mine came as an unlocked version which they seem to have done for the first batch of Pebble Blue phones (mum's is white).

I think they rushed the PB ones out too quickly due to the delay with them which stopped them from putting their own crap on it :D

In terms of the features you have with it, it is much better than stock calendar

What 'features' does it have? As well as it not being very economical with space, I just found it harder to use, longer to add events etc. I seem to remember I couldn't see everything in week view?

Thanks. I also have the pebble blue looks cool.

Does not having the OTA feature really make a difference?

Just means you have to plug it into a pc to update it that's all, but then it probably won't be long till you give in and start using a custom rom anyway :D

same here...I've got the CM9 package on my sd card but I'm putting it off lol

would I need to do a full wipe going from one 4.0.4 ROM to another 4.0.4 ROM?

It's recommended, you can always do it without then if you get any problems go back and full wipe it.

Does anyone know if there's an app or something that will let me share my phones Wifi to my desktop PC? Having trouble with my desktop connection, phone seems fine though.

Settings -> More Settings -> Portable wi-fi hotspot

Turn that on, the phone will now become an access point - should be able to get the PC to connect to that..
