***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Whats the best way of transferring my messages from my S2 to S3?

Also I hear the Note 2 is coming on 1st October is it really going to be much better than S3 or is it jus the bigger screen?

Also if you upgrade through Orange how many days do you have to play with the phonme if you later decide you want to change it

Install sms backup and restore from the play store then just copy the resulting xml file to your s3 and restore using the same app.

Got my S3 today, trying to root it. Problems though, when in Odin after I've selected the PDA and click start it does nothing and just says "<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)"

Yeah it does show the serial. I wasn't quite sure which build to pick though as the one which shows on the phone is IMM76D BUBLG3.

SELECT YOUR PHONE MODEL AND BUILD
---------------------------------

INTERNATIONAL MODEL
-------------------
1. Android 4.0.4 (Build IMM76D XXALE8)
2. Android 4.0.4 (Build IMM76D XXALF6)
3. Android 4.0.4 (Build IMM76D XXBLFB)
4. Android 4.0.4 (Build IMM76D XXBLG9)
5. Android 4.1.1 (Build JRO03C XXDLH6)
6. HELP ME I CAN'T FIND MY BUILD
Can't remember which one I picked =/

Still having problems getting wifi working on any CM10 rom.

Apparently flashing a Samsung JB leak changes your bootloader, which has conflicts with CM10.

Anyone had this and managed to fix it? I've tried flashing a 4.0.4 rom, and then flashing CM10 but wifi still fails to connect.

I'd completely start from scratch just to make sure. Unroot to a stock ICS ROM using Odin/Mobile ODIN, then root and install CM10 without wiping from there.

EDIT: I said before that I disagreed with using custom kernel, however I just decided to flash Siyah 1.5.4, and performance seems to be a lot better. Battery drain seems to be worse though, at just under 2% an hour, though that could be down to something else, which I'll test out tonight.

Another one for CM10 users who are having problems with apps such as TVCatchup not playing video, go to Developer Options and Disable HW Overlays.

Finally, if you're having problems with Superuser constantly asking for permissions without remembering, simply use SuperSU and disable/uninstall Superuser.

Don't suppose you use MAC filtering do you?

Flash back to Sammy iCS rom, let the device boot. Reboot back into recovery and install CM10.

If he was using MAC filtering it wouldn't make a difference what ROM he is using, unless of course he is spoofing, which is highly improbable.

Believe it or not, there was a reason for asking but thanks for the condescension.

I noticed on the One X that certain CM ROMs all flashed over the device's WiFi MAC address, effectively giving all One X handsets with that ROM the same address.

Hence, if it's doing the same here, and he has MAC filtering on, the WiFI won't work.
