***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Wonder if any of you fellas can give me a hand.
I am wanting to flash a new ROM (1st time on S3) as my battery life has drastically changed for the worse since upgrading to JB :(
Anyways I would just do wanamlite as everyone else on here, however I have a US Sprint version. Would someone who knows a lot more about it than myself, suggest one from this minefield? http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1639
There are so many, where do I begin? Just want one that will be somewhat similar but smoother/faster/improved battery life etc

The one thing I hate about this phone, is that I have to keep unlocking it in order to change tracks. Why are there no controls on the lock screen?! Or have Apple got a patent on that? :rolleyes:

even the stock player has lock screen controls and on most custom roms if the screen is off you can long hold the volume buttons to change.
 
Anyone dealt with Samsung warranty on here? My S3 just flat out died, very peculiar. Been using it fine all day, last time I checked battery (as I left work) was about 80%. Got home 20 minutes later, poof it's dead. NO power whatsoever, plugging USB charger in doesn't even register no LEDs nothing :confused:.

Bloody frustrating, I hope they've caught up with Apple in their customer support aswell by now. Though I have to either risk freepost or pay for recorded off my own back! Bit cheeky.
 
Just to check the obvious. You've done a battery pull? I've had similar (not sure about no sign of power light on charging) but pulling the battery for a minute has fixed it.

Who did you get the S3 from? I had no problem sending mine back with CPW two months in.
 
Still having this WiFi issue on Wanam 4.4 :(

It connects to WiFi fine. If I then move out of range of the router (leaving house), the phone doesn't disconnect from the router. You can sill see the wireless icon on the phone. Due to this, the phone doesnt switch to 3G and so all data connections fail. I have to turn Wifi off and on again to force the phone off it.

Quite annoying yet I cannot find anywhere online describing this problem at all (all the issues people have are random disconnects which I don't get... Mine DOESN'T disconnect LOL :()

Took about a week including the delivery when i sent my SGS2 away.

Yup fiddled with battery etc. looks fine. I think maybe the USB connector is gimped (Zenis dock I'm looking at you) and it's shorted the charging circuit or something?
 
Just got my s3 back from Regenersis who do Samsung repairs, took just under two weeks and they sent my phone back with a brand new screen on it :). Only downside was that they sent my phone back without notifying me first luckily someone was in :).
 
Cool that's who mine is booked with. Did you use the freepost label they send you? I'm worried the return address on the 'back' of the package will look like the delivery address lol, seems a stupid design to me!

well if you have the head phones with the play/paue button on it, you can double click the play pause button and it will skip to next track... might help

I hate that too, the stock Samsung player doesn't have lockscreen controls. You download the Google musicplayer or use something like poweramp.

Such a beautiful fast ROM and no issues so far.

I can't seem to update Google Now. Gives me a error when it tries to install. Something about package certificate. I was on Wanam 4.2 and figured it was because of that. Updated to 4.4 but no change. Don't really want to do a wipe.
