***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

I don't think that you'll be able to get official updates as you're rooted but you will be able to download 4.1.2 and update via Odin but you will loose root permissions.

However if you purchase Mobile Odin by Chainfire you can install the latest update and root it at the same time. Its a brilliant app and its really easy to use.

Thanks stoosh.

We need Samsung to release the 4.1.2 update for the S3 LTE. I wonder how long it will take?

@mrk Any response from Samsung in regards to your email?

It seems that you're not the only one who has been fobbed off with the water damage scenario, other users over at Xda are reporting the same thing happened to them! Hope you get it sorted soon!

One another note a website has finally picked up on the S3 sudden death syndrome.

Maybe now Samsung might come out and make an official statement about the problem once other websites pick up on the story.

The thread over at XDA is 56 pages long!
That must have been what happened to my S3, I posted about it suddenly dying a while back and then refusing to boot up. Sent for repair and the main board was replaced. My screen and casing was reused as it was in perfect condition.

I doubt it, my backups are always in .zip format, you could perhaps try zipping it? Just like overclocking I prefer doing this sort of thing before the device fully boots, things like CWM touch and mobile odin are done from within the full android environment right?

Anyway, if it's doable I expect someone at XDA can help or you might be going to a fresh install.

In fact, you could probably go back to CM10 as a fresh install, install CWM touch and then restore from your backup because you'll be doing it from within CM10 not 10.1? Just a thought.

Although like I say, 10.1 is going just fine for me.

Yeah it seems pretty stable, especially with the nfc fix patch getting that working again is nice. The only thing I don't like in cm10.1 is that browser scrolling is seriously jagged and choppy... plus I can't find any developer options to enable gpu rendering to see if that fixes it, is it enabled by default in 4.2.1?

It's it choppy because Samsung haven't released exynos sources yet?

Well i still cant get Wanam 5.2 and JB dom theme to play nicely, everytime i flash and boot into my phone, i find the toggles at the top are missing the text underneath:confused:.

Dont know what im missing or doing wrong when im flashing. All ive done is boot into recovery, flashed the wanam 5.2 rom then rebooted, then again rebooted into recovery and installed the latest jb dom file v1.4.5 and then rebooted my phone. Still finding that the toggles are still missing the text underneath.

Not only that im noticing im getting a lot of 'email has stopped unfortunately' messages and its slowing the phone right down to a crawl. I have restored my titanium backup, hoping that would fix the missing text but that hasnt worked.

Anyone have any ideas as to how i can get it working??

Im still stumped as to why you are getting this

crDroid 9 is out :)

Just got it and will try it out.

I also installed the new JKay Deluxe stuff and it looks good on Wanam.

Also........

Vertumus ‏@Vertumus_XDA

JB Domination v1.5 is finished, just to implement JKAY mods!

I was having problems with charging. Downloaded Elixer to ensure what current the phone was taking when it was on charge. Turns out the plug sockets in starbucks only put out 400mah. Checked when I was home and it was fine.

Nothing has changed at my house, always been in the same socket, same cable etc, but today its refusing to charge at the normal rate, normally after 2 hours its charged, instead its moved at 1% an hour :(
Anyway downloaded that app, and it says 999mA - health good - annoying as hell :(

Does it charge normal speed when it's turned off?

Not sure to be honest, going to try it now - i wonder if that little travel adapter thing has bust or something, if it has would that be covered on warranty? Plus no idea how to check it lol

Edit- to save spam, no it hasnt made a difference, left it off on charge turned on and it doesnt read anymore % gone in.

Edit 2- Tryed a charger from a Galaxy Ace, and thats just as slow, all in all its taken 8 hours to charge the phone from 24% to 100% :( i fear something has gone in mine
