***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

Oh thats good to know, vodafone stuck some undeleteable bookmarks in the browser that really bug me. Just had a look again its JZO54K.I9300XXELLA thats its on at the minute built Dec 22.

Can someone recommend another ROM please.
Been using the official Samsung one, then Omega and Viking - All 3 based on Samsung so am guessing something that just looks nicer, Miui rom or something?

I'm going to be sending my phone off for recycling in the next few days so I want to unroot it and flash it back to a stock ROM just so they've got no reason to knock the price down.
Is it as simple and flashing the UK ROM from the link above? As in I won't need to do anything fancy to clear the unroot or anything.

Sorry about this :(

Delete/disable com.android.providers.partnerbookmarks from your apps list, reboot and you're done.

Try Sotmax ROM on XDA, it's still Samsung based but it's smooth and fast, then download the JB Domination theme this will make it look like AOSP Android, not Samdung Touchwizz style

Also, try downloading Boeffla Kernel v2.11 beta7 - it's brilliant for RAM management and battery life :)

Basically, 'yes' :) just flash that via Odin and your root will be gone :) then just remember to factory reset it to get rid of any personal apps/data before you send it off :)

If you don't mind sticking with a Samsung based rom, crDroid is pretty good. Has loads of options to change the appearance in the Aroma installer, such as JB Domination and statusbar tweaks.

If you want to go aosp, get Temaseks Unofficial CM 10.1 rom. It's updated constantly and it's got lots of little subtle mods.

I wouldn't bother with an MIUI rom at the moment, the two main ones on XDA are a bit buggy, lots of people complaining of stuttering. I think it's because it's quite an early port of MIUI V5.

I also wouldn't bother with a ParanoidAndroid build yet either, the two main ports on XDA have an issue with the Settings.apk force closing so you cant really do anything with your phone :p

Miuiandroid.com for miui. Its perfectly sound on my s3 and i have been running it on atleast one of my phones for two years. Its the next best Rom to stock for stability and bloody great for customising. Nowt better out there.

Most of the best roms are not on XDA.

So this morning my phone developed a fault where there is no sound playing from the rear speaker whatsoever. Headphones will work.

This is running CM10. I've reflashed to the newest version but it's still not working.

Shall I try reflashing the standard rom or is my phone knackered?

More likely to be hardware fault than software.

Reporting back after flashing the latest nightly of cyanogenmod 10.1. Mostly okay, very fast and very ram light so better mutitasking however there is a bug which causes cell broadcast messages to pop up every 10-15 mins and more so when you are on the move, making it an unmanageable rom. Apparently, this bug is not present in the 10th April nightly.

So I decided to go back to stock for the time being!

Managed to soft brick the device coming back to stock with boot loops and unable to get into recovery, but managed to get it all working again after using the emergency firmware tools via Samsung kies which is pretty awesome as it downloads the latest firmware and puts everything to stock for you.

It looks like we could hopefully be seeing Android 4.2.2 for the S3 today :)

A guy over at XDA forums called Faryaab has been giving very big hints that he will be releasing it on Monday. For those that don't know he has leaked various versions in the past including 4.1 and 4.2.1 and is well known for it. Hes usually reliable but we'll have to wait and see. Weather it will be the final version or a beta, who knows.
If you check out his twitter posts from the last few days you will see he has been posting big hints and even a few photos of his s3 seemingly running with some of the Galaxy s4's features and 4.2 features.

Lets hope he doesn't dissapoint!
