***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

What case are you guys using? Looking at the 3000mAH battery myself but not sure as I don't want to go without a case, but at the same time, I don't want a massive case either.

EDIT - Got the official Samsung 3000Mah battery and back cover ordered, and ordered a Diztronic extended case designed for it all for less than 30 quid, rather a happy chappy as the battery issue nearly made me buy an Iphone the other day, hopefully this will allay my fears now.

Nice, where did you order your case from?

Seriously considering this option also. It's fine while I'm at work (I work in an office so can plug it in if it gets too low) but on the weekends it's almost unusable! :'(

Mine dies a death around 1800 when i get home, but I hate having to charge it twice a day, its stupid.

Got my case from Diztronic in the USA, its designed specifically for the samsung official 3000mAH battery.

Above link is what I ordered

I have the normal TPU matte black one and I would recommend them. The only case I've kept on for ages.

Only thing I dislike is the gloss black rim around the edge, would prefer it all matte

I noticed that myself, not sure until I see it in the flesh. My current case is a all matte black tpu case literally the same as the Diztronic case except it wont fit the larger battery.

Ah ok I ordered mine ebay - same site I guess as Paypal states payment is to Diztronic. Same price.

I ordered my Note 3 case form the US site previously.

I also have the standard case - excellent case that as it looks smart and the cut outs are well done.

I also like the shiny front - suits my LTE Grey model.

Sooo dropped my S3 last week, watched a load of glass replacement videos and went for it! however, it didn't go so well. Tip for anyone attempting this repair, once you think the phone is hot enough for the last pull to take the center of the glass away, heat it even more, the LCD is very weak :( new digitiser on the way!

I'm getting ridiculously good battery life with my extended battery. Helps that my wake locks are very minimal too.

I'm on 3.5 hrs screen time with 65% remaining. Superb.

My diztronic case arrived too, great case.

Extended battery goodness...

Official Samsung extended battery, 3000mAh. Helps when you have minimal wakelocks and are conservative with the brightness.

I suspect if you use the phone as a smartphone is meant to be, the batterlife woulbe around a day.

Which rom are you running, and what optimisations?

That was pretty much a best case scenario. Just shows you should be able to get a hard days use with ease.

And yes I did use it as a smartphone, your comment makes no sense.

ROM is Pandoriam which I installed back in January. I have the i9305, and any bloat is frozen.

I've just changed from a Samsung based ROM (wanam 4.3) over to an AOKP based ROM (Omega AOKP 4.3.1) and the difference in speed and lack of bugs is astonishing!

Iv got from 10hrs battery life up to 24+hrs on a standard battery. Its awesome and so so quick.

Camera is not an issue for me, it works just fine for close range but then I never used the zoom on the Samsung camera.

I don't use Barcleys bank so canont comment on that.

Right had a little search and couldn't find a specific thread for Anker Batteries, more specifically the 4400mAh extended one for the GS3, can be found on forest.

If anyone has any experience with one would they mind posting, the battery life on my GS3 with standard Samsung battery is pretty poor now and looking to extend it somewhat by the means of a larger battery.

Is the Anker 4400 any good, I've read they're good quality batteries(don't fancy cheap chinese batteries melting my face off!), does it make the phone too large? Looks like it beefs up the size by about 4-5mm , which to be fair I can live with, except maybe when I use the phone to go running, which may make it too heavy to live in my pocket!

Maybe I should consider the 3000mAh battery as above, is it smaller than the Anker?

Opinions welcome :)

+1 for the official battery

Use it in my S3, I run power saving mode off now, makes the phone so nice to use and I can still manage 2 days if I barely use the phone. Made it half way through a 3rd day once!

If you are having problems with battery life, your main concern should probably be with then ROM you're running. As has been said, there tends to be a large difference in Samsung vs AOKP.

Thanks for the advice guys, the 3000mAh official dooly looks good, will consider purchasing that, I was late today for my work appraisal because I forgot to plug my phone in and my alarm didn't go off, it's an omen and tell theee! :D

I have followed these threads for quite some time being a lurker in general, but I have never really taken the plunge in regards to installing a different ROM, I know this has probably been posted a thousand times in the 606 page thread, but whats the easiest ROM in install form the point of view that I only want to increase battery life and keep everything else pretty much standard.

I do enjoy tinkering but not too bothered about changing too much of the phone, its a bit sluggish atm so any speed increases would also be good!
