Quite a few additions from Omni ROM and slim ROM Repo's and lots of tweets under the hood to improve performance. Kind of a best bits from all mixed up in one ROM.
Since the s3 came out I've always used omega touchwiz ROMs.
This evening I tried out temasek. All I can say is that its incredible - everything is buttery smooth and simple!
Wondering if there were any general tips or good tweaks / themes most people recommend?

Tweeks would be to use the kernel I posted above and find out what govner works best for power saving on your handset and usage patterns.
As for themes, I have a few of the dark ones installed as slims TRDS is not gone for good from Temasek's ROM
but the new theme engine makes up for that in a big way!

but the new theme engine makes up for that in a big way!I've updated to v82 too. Had a niggle in the car today, poweramp would just cut the sound off but apparently be continuing to play. Pretty much rebooting fixed it but even that was temporary.
Heard its something to do with a bug caused by music fading settings.
I've turned them off but not hopeful!

Its to do with Google Voice search, Its a known bug and affects all CM11 based ROMS.
Unless something phenominal turns up in the next 18 months my s3 will be staying, although I'm liking the look of the Oppo Find 7!
v82 still has the memory leak, although touch wood I've not crashed since flashing it this morning.
Finally decided to put slimkat on my untouched SG3 yesterday and despite staying up till 3am I couldn't even get CWM working
I tried using the latest Odin and older versions to flash the latest CWM but despite it saying Pass in the green box it still has the original android thing on it when I try to boot in to CWM by holding down power, home and volume up.
I'm lost

Disable hot word detection, that fixes the issue.

Try the Philztouch I liked above should work without issue.

I have posted a flashing guide a little way up the thread should make your life easier
also CM Backup is a very good way of backing up messages and contacts, application data is beat backed up with Titanium Backup.Once you have a custom recovery don't forget to make a Nondroid backup of your current firmware before wipeing it all as that you only way to recover anything if it goes boobs up!

I did actually try Philztouch and followed the same CWM guide over at XDA as you posted in your guide. Don't know why it won't work for me. Could it be anything to do with USB3 ports?
Tried it on desktop PC and MacBook Air both running windows 7 with official Samsung USB cable. Like I said I did get the green pass thing in Odin but it never actually flashed on to my phone.

This gets stranger!!!
I managed to flash Philztouch by disabling the reboot option and it worked. I managed to boot up in Philztouch and exited out to make sure the rest of my phone was still working. But when I tried to boot back in to Philztouch it was gone and I've got stock recovery back
I'm also still not clear on rooting 4.3, is it a superuser file I install via Philztouch if and when I get it working again?
Where would I find "developer options" in Odin 309?
