The Best Smartphone Display

OLED has evolved into a highly refined and mature display technology that now produces the best and highest performance displays for Smartphones.

OLED Display Performance continues to provide major Record Setting improvements with every new generation.

For the Galaxy S10, Samsung has concentrated on significantly raising the on-screen Absolute Picture Quality and Absolute Color Accuracy of the OLED display by implementing Precision Factory Display Calibration, moving the overall Galaxy S10 display performance up to Record Setting Outstanding Levels, and setting many new Display Performance Records, including Record Absolute Color Accuracy at a very impressive 0.4 JNCD that is Visually Indistinguishable From Perfect. The Galaxy S10 is the most Color Accurate Display that we have ever tested.

Jumped on the S10+ bandwagon, having had my mostly great P20 Pro for a year......just handset ordered, via MyCo, so kinda feels cheaper from getting VAT back :p

Anyway, the P20 Pro has been a fantastic handset, truly awesome camera, but has always niggled me a bit with its crazy power saving antics.....things like MyAudi app that connects to car's MMI, Canary, Tado and others that rely on the app ticking along quietly deeeep in the background often have been totally shutdown by Huawei's software, probably to improve battery, and my last Samsung (S8+) was far more realistic in such handling....P20 Pro just too aggressive, and manually overriding often too far the other way.

So, Samsung fans, has much changed since S8+??
MyCo as in your own limited company?

My interest has led me to sticking in a late pre-order :p sucker so I am.

I think the lack of worldwide warranty on US units was a bit of a concern, got my employee discount scheme off it however through Argos so we'll see if I'll make the 8th for delivery. (Email does state they'll get it on it's way in 2 days...)

Anyone recommend a good case for the S10? My mate has an i-Blason for his S9 which I liked but the listing for the S10 says it isn't compatible with the fingerprint scanner. It's a very sturdy but fairly slim case. Disappointed it's not suitable. Any suggestions for an alternative?

I recently bought a Mous case for my S9+. A few on here have recommended them so thought I'd give one a try. Had a Gear4 case on for nearly a year. So much prefer the Mous as not that bulky and is a really tight fit. Haven't used the included screen protector as have a glass one fitted. Not cheap though but supposed to give good drop protection. Mous do cases for S10, Plus and E.

I had this exact issue last year and from experience you'll be more annoyed if you're using the phone you don't want for a year or however long. You'll be more out of pocket if you decide to change after you've got the S10.
I made the same mistake when I got the S8, as soon as I got it and someone showed the S8+ I knew I should have gone bigger as the size difference isn't that huge.
Yeah a week isn't going to make much difference for a phone that you want and going to be using a for year or beyond.

Thanks for the advice guys, I've cancelled my S10 order and re-ordered the S10+ instead. It's going to be agonizing waiting an extra week for the delivery but I know deep down I would have regretted keeping the S10.

So I popped into the Three store and had a very quick look at the phones. I was looking at the S10 and thinking "ahh yeah that's about the same size as my S7 Edge". Then saw the 2 front cameras... Oh.

I'm wondering if I should have gone with the +. Will have to wait and see! I struggle to reach the top left on my S7 one handed anyway so I'm thinking with the whole of the phone being edge to edge screen that actually the S10 will work out as the best one.

The + has 2 front facing cameras

I just ordered the Ringke Onyx for the Mrs, assuming it's the same one for my Note 9 - an excellent case. Not too large/intrusive but offers good protection.

I-blason is just open mold junk, you'll find the exact same thing in a dozen or more brands.

If you really want something where an actual company has done actual r&d then you're really looking at:

Tech21
Gear4
Incipio/Griffin
Mous
Otterbox

The vast majority of cases are just something generic then 90% packaging.

Also yes if you want the finger print sensor to work you can't have anything on the screen that isn't basically a film screen protector like the pre installed one.

I saw the Samsung original protective case yesterday and it's so much thinner than previous generations, well worth a look if you're feeling so inclined.

One of the few S10 non-Plus battery life videos out at the moment:

Hmm, I get a similar SOT with my 3 year old S7 Edge (original 3600mAh battery) - I was hoping the S10 would improve on this. The S7 Edge still lasts me a full day, which is impressive for a 3 year old phone.

Weirdly I found my SoT got worse with my Note 9 from the Note 8, yet the standby and levels across a typical day were noticeably better.

I would hope the Note 10 has some serious optimisation and/or a 4500 maH battery.

Would you not include Spigen?

I really quite like their liquid air cases, dropped my phone a few times thinking it would definitely game over and it's been fine. I've already got this sat waiting:

I'm not 100% sure, I'm fairly sure they at least started as just another rebranding setup.

My point is you have in Tech21 the people who originally licensed D30 then used that as a springboard to create their own R&D and now actually create products, Gear4 are the current licensees of D30 (the orange goo that you saw on dragons den) and are owned by Mophie, credible players.

Incipio bought Griffin who were one of the originators of the rugged case and have a rich R&D history.

Otterbox also are a humongous company with genuine R&D who just never really made it in Europe.

Mous are a kicksarter darling who again made their own product with their own R&D etc.

The point is they are brands creating original presumably patented products attached to a brand that requires customer loyalty etc..

Then there are a million and one brands that could vanih and reappear as something else tomorrow because they just buy the same crap you can get for $1 of alibaba and have their name stamped on it (and sometimes don't even bother with that).

It's a triumph of branding and an understandable naivety (I've sadly made a career of knowing this sort of thing.. nobody else would be interested lol) that gets people recommending things like i-blason..

Having seen the battery test video for the S10 I am in two minds about my S10 order now.. I prefer the smaller size of the S10, but could do with the bigger S10+ battery.. hmm

Is there any way to change the delivery date of the order? I went for the 512gb ceramic white under the upgrade program and it's delivering it to my home address (I didn't see an option to change it but I did rush through it). Might just have to WFH on Friday otherwise.
