The 5g s20 (snapdragon) battery life is absolutely not pants. I took mine off charge at 8am and the battery is at 48% with 5hrs 19 screen on time at 120hz.

Impressive. Guess that shows the difference between the adaptive and always on 120mhz from Samsung. No way on earth the FE would manage those numbers!

Sorry, to be clear I AM talking about the FE model.

Now at 5hrs 50 SoT and 43% battery.
I want to know is how. I don't get those numbers
I hit bed last night at 50% with my FE off charge since 7am. Admittedly it had a pretty easy day of it yesterday but that's good going, especially for a Samsung. I was on 4hrs SOT but I also had over an hour of YouTube streaming with the screen off that used a portion of the battery. Absolutely no reason I couldn't have hit 7+hrs SOT if I'd tried.

I am assuming you are running it at 120 and not 60?

I wasn't doing anything in particular. On most days I'd say I would get 8.5-9 hours SoT, based on extrapolation of battery percent when I go to bed (because I don't use my phone that much!). Standby is what skews the figures - if you take the phone to work and it sits for 8 hours hunting masts, or bouncing between them on your commute, the battery will dribble away and you might end up on 75% at the end of the day and with not much more than an hour's screen time. Then it would be tempting to think "hang on, the battery is rubbish", but if you sat at home all day on your phone, the battery has a much easier life and lasts much longer.

I have 5G turned off as well. Maybe it makes a difference.

This.

Mine is going back. Top phone, it just doesn't feel that special in the hand. For most people I'm sure that's unimportant (and I wish it was for me), but I'll try a different device.

Mine lives at home on WiFi all day(with5g off) and on 120mhz I'll get around 4.5hrs screen on time (which incidentally is exactly the same as what the reviews reported). Always find it amazing people here manage to double these numbers...!

I quite like it although I can see your point. I like the 'plastic' back and the fact it is lighter because of it and the matt finish is quite nice.
However I'd agree because it's lighter and with the plastic back it doesn't feel as 'premium'. For example, the sheer weight of the iPhone Pro Max adds to that premium factor however when watching videos in landscape mode for more than 15mins I can say my wrists appreciate the lighter weight of the FE!
