**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S20 Family Thread ****

Looks like my device does have the issue! Just tried the test!

This would explain the issues I was having typing!
Mine is currently with the Samsung repair centre for this issue and another issue of screen tint. I sent it off on Monday and got a call from the centre today just seeking clarification on the issue. The guy said it was the first unit they’d received with the ghost touch issue, I told him to go google it :p
Anyhow he has said that they are going to repair but needed to order the parts. Who knows if it’ll get sorted at all. I’m not all that bothered as I’m currently on an iPhone 12 and loving it.
As I’m beyond the return period I was hoping for a full warranty replacement then just whack it on the bay as a new unit.

I dunno why. I dunno if it's me. But I'm finding what feels like these ghost touches more and more. It's hard to pin down if it's me and its a different phone oor a bug.

Ignoring the fault. I'm not impressed by this phone. I don't even think it feels any faster than my S7. Maybe because I don't play demanding games.
Yeah the camera is a bump. But I did a 3x zoom (2x optical) and pics are still unusable. So not much use

Half tempted to go back to S7, but get a newer second hand one to get better battery life

If you can’t tell the difference between the S20 FE and the S7, maybe you don’t need a £500+ phone. Why not check out the Poco X3 instead? On the other hand, if the pics on the S20 FE are “unusable” you’re likely to be disappointed with the X3. I don’t know what you were taking photos of, but no phone will capture a crisp low light image of a fast moving target, and the S7 certainly couldn’t either.

Yeah I'm not expecting great things.
But my S7 was a massive step up from my previous phone in the cam department.
I believe that was 2 generations.
This a 4 generation step. I took a pic of a heron (still) from across the water. It wasn't really any better than my S7 could do.
As in both we're not worth keeping.

So if the optical zoom is more a gimmick I'm finding the camera is better but not the leap I was hoping for.
Both can take nice landscapes. Both can't really do speed shots, both cannot really do tele shots.

I suppose (probably silly) I was hoping the new phone would be able to get decent shots of some description the S7 couldn't. So far I haven't found what this is.

All other features I can kind of understand.
Phones have plateaued

Like you say. Maybe a basic phone is what I need

Anyone else having issues with wireless charging being slow?, I've got a third party wireless charger and when you put the s20 on it it says fast wireless charging then after a few seconds it goes to normal wireless charging going from 2 hours estimated to a full charge to over 3 hours :-(

Can someone recommend me a wireless charging pad that will fast charge an S20 @ 10w, ideally without a fan.

Thanks

Sure you're plugging in a compatible 10w plug and cable to the pad?

I'm using the following items,

I have tried using the original s20 cable and charge, same problem, goes to fast wireless charging for a few seconds then drops down to regular 5w charging, I have read a few reviews of of charging pad itself and a few people seem to mention that they are having a similar issue.

Unusable?? Are you sure you've not bought a dodgy replica? :p

Sure they're not going to be blown up for prints any time soon but if you're saying the zoom photos are unusable for social media / viewing on a phone I think there's an issue with your camera too as I'm suitably impressed by it. Makes a huge difference to the type of shots that can be taken

Long shot, there is a fast wireless charging option in the charging menu along with a timer behind it so you can turn it over overnight etc.

I'm trying to decide which phone to get between the iPhone 12 mini and the Galaxy S21.

The reason I'm posting here is because I'd like some feedback about the 120hz screen on the S20. Does it make much of a difference? I could never go back to a 60hz pc monitor but is it as important on a smartphone? Does it make scrolling smoother?

Just like on a pc monitor, higher refresh rate on a phone display makes everything smoother. Plus touch sampling rate is also increased.

They are pretty bad. Too bad for social media.

I've not had a problem with mine at all, some even printed at A3

Wow, great shot! Is this edited?

Also, do people anticipate that wireless charging over time will degrade battery life (due to heat etc)?

Getting an S20 FE 5G used from the members market to replace my pixel 4xl, hopefully the camera is about as good for taking photos of my dog.

Main reason im changing is battery, storage and fingerprint.
