Everyone has different requirements but I generally sit with my phone resting on the little finger of my right hand. My phone is a Note 10+ and it's already fairly heavy so I like to know the weight of a phone. Reviewers who comment on the overall and top heavy nature of the S20 Ultra are helping me out.
I'm also one of those people who, if I spend a grand or more on a phone, want others to know that I've done so. I like nice things and everyone has something that draws them to a model of phone. For others it's knowing they got a bargain £300 Chinese phone. If I spend 1200 quid on a phone, I want the manufacturer to put in the effort. The S20 Ultra grey back in particular is really poor and again I want that highlighted in reviews. It might not bother everyone, but it should be mentioned.
Edit - to be clear, I will not be buying an S20 Ultra, but the points I've made are still relevant.
Where are you? I find VF to be hot garbage a lot of the time.. Catching a train in anything like rush hour London means I have a phantom signal, I can see it but I can't do anything with it. Driving means frequent drop outs etc etc.
Nothing is foolproof mind, it's a trick for getting what works for you.. for some genius reason my office literally only has Vodafone so I'm kinda stuck.
Although to be fair at home it works great, I've suddenly started getting upwards of 150mb on 4g+ so I've stopped using my home wifi lol.
to be fair their network is good. Didn't have any issues from that point of view. Slightly patchy. have been with them for years.
In London.
Why O2 then? just cost cutting exercise or is their SLA a better proposition for you?
Looking at this, Voda absolutely blows all the other providers out of the water. O2's performance was abysmal which is really annoying because right now, all the good deals are on O2 and not Voda!
If there was no embargo there'd surely be an enterprising reviewer who could knock out a couple of videos about both the Ultra and the other two in the series before now. Details on the S20 and S20+ are thin on the ground.
Date from EE now 24th March, plenty of time for buyers remorse to kick in
As far as review embargos go, as far as I'm aware there was no embargo or NDA on reviewers - I think we're seeing Ultra reviews first because reviewers are competing for clicks/views - they need to release first otherwise they'll miss the window.
Are you currently on 60hz? What do you make of 90hz?Had a play with the ultra today. I cannot unsee that screen now! 120Hz, amazing.
Same happened on mine, it appeared as a pending transaction in the app for a couple of days after I pre-ordered and then disappeared. Mine hasnt come back yet thoughI've purchased a S20 ultra directly from Samsung, they did the usual thing of taking payment but not actually claiming it from the account, my available balance was showing a balance including the price of the phone again a couple of weeks ago, yesterday Samsung appear to have taken the whole amount out of my account.
I wounder if the phone will start shipping earlier than the 8th of March as they had said previously.

Managed to get my new additional Vodafone line cancelled and the CPW-bought upgrade on the initial plan rolled back (spoke to Vodafone in the end, not CPW and I didn't even mention it was bought through CPW - simple)I'm looking at the paperwork I have from CPW to see if I can get out of the crappy contract within the 14 days despite what they told me.
The piece of paper actually with my signature has both a CPW logo and Vodafone logo on it and is titled "Order form for Vodafone". My signature is under the "customer agreement" section and the top says "this order is subject to Vodafone's standard terms and conditions" which I believe includes the cooling off period and ability to cancel within that, as the Vodafone guy told me.
But I think I'm going to have to argue it with CPW to return the upgrade plan as they initially told me I can't change my mind as I'm buying through a third party.
But with a bit of luck, the actual thing I've signed appears to be Vodafone terms and conditions, not CPW ones.
Might pop in the CPW store tomorrow and see what they say.
Ultra supports 45w charging but comes with a 25w charger. However some tests have been done to compare the speeds and it is barely any different so is not worth paying extra for a 45w charger anywayDon't quote me on it, I'm more looking for confirmation...
Am I correct in saying the S20 supports a certain wattage charger but doesn't come with that in the box? I may be wrong and need to check into it. But I think I saw this on a review video... That the box charger won't charge the phone at the max speed it's capable of.
