Ultra supports 45w charging but comes with a 25w charger. However some tests have been done to compare the speeds and it is barely any different so is not worth paying extra for a 45w charger anyway
I've often wondered, is it a case of diminishing returns for charging speed or is the battery itself the limiting factor? The OnPlus 7T Pro has 30w charging so beyond this do we need 60w+ to see any tangible improvement?

I have preordered with EE with a view to swap from my iPhone. However, last year with the S10, the differences between the SD and the Exynos specifically in the battery standby department was disappointing.

Are there any reviews comparing the SD865vs the Ex990? I appreciate that they are both fabricated on 7nm thus, should be closer this year.

Ah OK, that's it then, cheers! The Plus doesn't support 45w?

What I've seen so far points to the Exynos version still being slower and less efficient - but a closer gap than last year.

Yeah would be good to see some comparisons.

iPhone 11 Pro Max, AirPods Pro and series 4 Apple Watch to Samsung S20 Ultra, Sony 1000MX3 and Galaxy Active 2 watch. That’s what I’m thinking.

Wait a few weeks, let this magical “update’ arrive for the camera, then decide, Most reviews I’ve read are saying the ultra is not worth the cost and the best of the bunch is the s20 plus.

I’m thinking the same... iPhone 11 Pro Max, Edition AWS5 and AirPods pro to Samsung Galaxy Ultra 512GB.

I’m a bit concerned about the Exynos vs SD because went I went the S10 Plus route last year, the battery was dire while the Americans were reporting amazing battery results.

Interested to know how much the gap has been closed. The worry with the Exynos and efficiency is the 120hz screen and power management - last year the standby drain was bad on the Exynos model.

I was under the impression that the Exynos chip issue on the previous gen stuff, was down to something in the firmware that didn't tell the chip that it wasn't needed at full speed anymore (after doing certain activities) and that was why the battery life was so poor. Has that not been fixed yet for the previous gen phones?

Agreed, I'm not jumping in.

Date from EE now 24th March, plenty of time for buyers remorse to kick in

As far as review embargos go, as far as I'm aware there was no embargo or NDA on reviewers - I think we're seeing Ultra reviews first because reviewers are competing for clicks/views - they need to release first otherwise they'll miss the window.

On my order the estimated date has just appeared it says 10th march

Not a video for S20 but it is related to seeing S20 is OLED. S20 + will be my first phone to use OLED does dark mode like this video really make this much a difference for you guys that have been using OLED on phones for a while?

I'd imagine there should be some savings of some sort, as even when I was using the Lumia 950 XL (AMOLED) back a few years ago, turning it to a dark theme does allow the battery to last longer. Although I never really tested it specifically how much of an improvement, just noticed there was some.

One thing I am liking about the ultra is the sharpness of the ultra wide plus night mode can be used with the ultra wide. The iPhones ultra wide is quite soft which is annoying.

Tbh i am only getting the 512 ultra because of the trade in on my note 9. which effectively pays of the remainder of my current contract. and i get a newer phone. i cannot afford to buy it outright otherwise i would be doing that. i did want the new note 20 or what ever its called but i have no idea if the trade in would be so good. I am also moving from the essential plan to the new flex or what ever they call it so i can upgrade to new up and coming phones. i am getting a lot more data and 3 adons. including amazon prime video ect
