**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S21 Family Thread ****

Do you think there will be a big difference in the cameras when pointing and shooting? Considering sending the iPhone back and getting an ultra from Samsung for 32 a month

I had the Note 20 Ultra Snapdragon through Wonda Mobile, very very good phone and almost perfect apart from one thing. Most import SD models come from HK and there is a very big lag on security updates and patches.

Note 20 Ultra is still November patch with no sign of One UI 3, really poor and not acceptable for a flagship.

I've decided to get the s21 ultra with the Exynos , 2100. Fingers crossed they have learnt their lesson from the 990 Exynos (appears they have)

Can't you change the CSC so you get updates faster?

There is a discussion thread over on XDA and apparently it's not that easy on the SD HK and Asian variants , a few have tried.

I did this previously on a Note 9

Would the average Joe see the difference between Exynos and SD if the benchmarks wasn't around?
With the last two (and worst) iterations, not really especially with performance. I think battery drain would be a little more noticeable but hard to quantify as we all such have different use cases. However I definitely do notice the mediocre battery on my Exynos Note 9, it's much worse than my Note 8 (yet they're both Exynos so who knows :p).

Few questions not strictly about the phone itself but involved in the buying. Tempted to just take the plunge, as much as I love my DLSR I just don't use it and can get about £700 for it so thought why not.

Do any of the finance options allow you to either put some money up front or overpay without fees?

Do Samsung provide a box and all that jazz for returning your old phone?

Yes buy directly from the samsung wesbite. You can trade in your old phone and they have finance plans with 0% interest. When you go through the ordering process you can see what works for you finance wise.

You can overpay but there isn't any point as it is 0% for up to 3 years. They will send you all packaging with postage paid to return your trade in.

Been debating whether to take the plunge on an S21 Ultra and moving on from my S10+ Ceramic 512GB but am I the only one feeling a bit "meh" about it. I'm normally one to upgrade as soon as phone contract is done with but for some reason I just can't get excited about this for what it costs - I expect a phone to cost this kind of money these days but the S21/S21+ certainly feels like a massive downgrade on the screen so that only leaves the Ultra and I'm not a big camera user either other than a few odd snaps so I don't know....

The biggest issue though is what else is going to come instead this year? I like the idea of the Fold but £1800 on a phone is just insane! Not really an iOS fan after a fall out with Apple a few years ago and I hate the closed ecosystem of iTunes etc. Ideally looking for something that wows whereas the likes of Pixel, Huawei, LG feel more like middle of the road phones but maybe I am wrong. If ultimately this is going to be the best Android phone this year then maybe it's the right one....

The only way to answer this is to try it for yourself. Specs are only part of the story. You'll have a 24 day return window.

I have a feeling reviews will drop this Friday.

Agreed. My Note 9 battery is awful.
