**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S21 Family Thread ****

Can anyone explain how the phone trade in works with Samsung? I got my S21 ultra yesterday and no details were in the box re. return shipping, do i get an email through or something else in the post ?

You should have got a separate email check your junk etc. Mine came through yesterday. Says the following:

Shortly you will receive a Samsung Trade-in return pack in the post for your old device, until then please ensure you transfer all your data to your new Samsung device and factory reset your old device.

Please do not use the return slip provided with your new Galaxy device. You must use the return pack you receive separately in the post. Failure to do so will result in a delay processing your order.

If you are Trading in an iPhone, you must first remove your iPhone from your iCloud account. Instructions can be found here.

RETURN PACK...

Your return pack will be to you within 3-5 days – this will include freepost packaging for your old device and instructions on how to post it back to us.

Follow the simple postage instructions and send us your device within 14 days.

Upon receipt our experts will check your device and an email will be sent to you confirming that your switch is complete.

Data on your devices - We understand there may be sensitive or personal data on your device that you have been unable to remove. We run a full, secure data wipe service to remove all data from devices in accordance with the Data Protection Act*, so you can sell to us with peace of mind that all your personal data will be securely removed.

Also gone for a black 256gb Ultra and coming from an S9, size does concern me a bit but will have to see!

I was surprised to see that it actually feels slightly smaller than my Note 10+ but will see what its like with the case on when it arrives!
Pretty impressed with the Buds Pro; sound quality and noise cancelling seems good to me and they do seem to relatively seamlessly work across my Phone and Tablet; battery did go quite quick though when using them; something I've not had to worry too much about with my Jabra 75T buds

For people with the Ultra, how responsive is it when you press on the curved part of the screen? Ie. Does it register your finger like normal, or do you find you need to press it more than once? Only thing stopping me pressing the order button.

For anyone with the S21+, what is the initial battery life like?

So can't decide which one to get for myself.

Yeah. I do recall reading something about them sending you the paperwork and bag/packet to return it. I'm returning a Nokia 8, which is getting me a massive £40 discount. :)

It's here!

Quick setup up shortly...

So i set mine up without a SIM. Wanted to install everything before transferring the Sim card over - EE.

Added the Sim, gone to check for updates etc. Nothing.

CSC is showing EUX, not BTU?

Can't for the life of me figure out what or why?

So the power Key doubles up as Bixby shortcut too if you press down 2 seconds. Anyway to remap this? The note 9 version of Bixby had the option to change what action the button did.

Edit: Problem Solved

I did the same with my EE sim, but my CSC is BTU
Is the phone direct from Samsung or somewhere else?
Have you restored data or started fresh?
I had to factory reset twice after restoring as things were broken.

Silly question but what charger are you all using as it doesn't come with a charger? To get the full 25w charging speed do you need to use a Samsung fast charger? Only USB C charger I have is my current one from my OP 6T which I believe is 30w and I really don't want to get a phone with slower charging speeds as it's a pretty important factor...

For the full 25Watts charge speeds you'll need the Samsung original PD PPS charger. Older PD chargers will fast charge @ 18W.

And it regards to sensitivity of the edge screen. It's all good, no missed presses thus far. It's a very minimal edge.

Had the phone for a day now (S21 Ultra 512GB Model with the 16GB RAM) and I'm very happy with it overall, only thing that's been an issue for me is gaming performance on Fortnite and cod mobile at the highest resolution (which I guess was to be expected) but it runs perfectly fine on the lowest resolution settings at least.

Don't know if that's due to the GPU for the Exynos 2100 and it's a different story with snapdragons but yeah, pretty much the only thing I can find fault with so far is gaming at max resolution, so you have to change those settings every time you want to play specific games and get a smooth 60fps+ experience.

The curve is so minimal it has no impact on touches, and I guess the only other thing to do is make sure you take 4 finger prints of your thumbs 2 for each hand so it can track all the angles you may unlock the phone from then it works flawlessly.

well i know earlier in this thread i said i wouldn't but pulled the plug today and went for the S21 Ultra (in black of course), will be a good upgrade from my trusty S10+ i dare say, following this thread for some tips etc remove bloatware and all that jazz :P
