*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

i think deep inside you just dont want to admit it :) or you simply looked for things to not like.. you know when you love something and then theres another thing that comes and its just as good if not better and you try to find some random flaws with it so you can kinda stick with what you have:)

personally my now OLD s2 is buttery smooth.

Not at all, my HTC 8X was an absolutely wonderful device to use. I'm quite happy to talk about the pros and cons of devices. Perhaps it's you who just can't admit it isn't as good?

Sorry, I just don't think it does. But I'd really like it if it did because then it'd be a viable alternative for me. Windows Phone gets the closest to iOS at the minute in my experience.

Different strokes for different folks I guess :p

Go for a Windows phone or stick to the Iphone 5 then if it suits your needs.

Obviously Android isn't for you! :D

Android would be for me if Google and/or Samsung fixed the problems that I have with it. That's what I'm hoping for from this event! For some reason, people seem to be telling me I shouldn't be wanting these things to improve!

No arguing here pal, just putting forward my hopes and wishes for the S4 event.

Good-oh. People do tend to get remarkably heated over these things.

I hope the S4 is a good device because it's that or the Experia for me in May. I have the GS2, so I'll stick with Samsung if they've produced the goods.

The thing is though, you are in a small minority with that view point.

Before JB/hardware acceleration came to android devices, no one could deny that iOS felt faster/smoother but now that just simply isn't the case and if you had problems with it on your devices then it must have been something on your end, a rogue app or some setting.

I have compared the iphones and lumia 800/920 to my one S and there is really not much difference at all, some things are smoother/faster on one device than the other but other things are smoother/faster on another device.

Also, even a strong iphone fanboy has admitted that the nexus 4 is superb in performance

http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2013/01/an-iphone-lovers-confession-i-switched-to-the-nexus-4-completely/

I know there are benchmarks which measure all kinds of technical performance on a very detailed level. That’s not what I’ve done and, honestly, I’m not interested into that much. I’m talking about the performance I feel in my daily use.

Using the Nexus 4 with Android 4.2.1 is a pure pleasure when it comes to performance. I don’t exactly know what Google has done with “Project Butter” in Jelly Bean, but the result is astonishing. In the past, Android felt laggy, sometimes even slow and responses to gestures didn’t feel half as immediate as on iOS.

This has changed completely.

I’d say both platforms are at least even. In some cases, Android even feels a bit ahead of iOS 6. I especially got this impression when it comes to rapidly switching between apps – which I constantly do now – and scrolling through a huge amount of more complex content. (I’m not talking just tables with text here.)

While Android still doesn’t give you bouncing lists and scroll views – primarily, because Apple has a patent for this specific behavior – every transition between views has been reworked, polished and modernised. In most cases, it feels more modern, clean and up-to-date than its iOS counterpart.

And many others who say the same now.

iOS and windows is not as perfect as what you make it out to be, I have encountered areas where it will lag or slow down too.

I'll probably buy and try the S4 when it comes out and see if the issues I have have been resolved or not.

i can't admit what? i don't mind apple devices :) nothing wrong with them but they simply dont suit my needs and android does the job so why would i even look into something else? :) we have a box of apple/android/etc devices here at work and with 10 iphones in hand i can tell you theres little no difference in performance ;)

there's nothing to fix lol.

Unfortunately that's just not my experience, even on a virgin device. It definitely still needs improvement in my opinion.

There's plenty to fix in Android, it's certainly not perfect!

Samsung will produce the goods...the only thing people here want changed is the design and a move away from plastic!

The Juggernaut that is Samsung will continue to steam roller on!

We'll know soon enough

I actually don't mind the current Samsung design language, I just wish for some more pleasing materials in the hand, and a smaller, more pocketable device.

Well apparently the S4 screen size will be 4.99" so you won't be getting a smaller device than the S3!

Ergonomically the S3 is a pleasure to hold but people want a move from the plastic materials, but Samsung have said that they will continue along the same strategy that has allowed them to produce and sell millions of Galaxy phones

It's a real shame they don't give consumers the choice of a high end, smaller device. It would be nice if Samsung released a whole family of S4 devices at different sizes but with the same specs.
