Especially taking into account the forum we're on the amount of "just wait for x" or "y is coming out soon" is crazy. Thats how time works!

I mean, if you wait 8 months to get an S5 (for example) then in 4 months-ish the S6 will be out. Exact same thing with iPhones.. wait wait wait, you'd never get anything!

Best bet if you can afford it in my eyes is to get what you want either day 1 or maybe a month or so in when the price gouging has stopped and you can be relatively sure there's no recall issues. That way you get something new, bang up to date without much chance of the buyers remorse setting in when you start seeing leaks of the next thing as soon as you have your toy.

So yeah, Z2 on the way lol.
 
installed 4.4.2 using kies last night and im now having major problems with the phone :(

wont connect to wifi just says "checking quality of internet conection" (tried entering service mode using dialer *#0011# but nothing happens)

will not power off unless i take battery out (blue light stays on)

screen wil not go off even if power button is pressed

very very slow and constant crashes, takes about 5 minutes to install one small app

people cannot get through to me either just goes to answer phone


i have tried downloading the firmware myself and putting it back on using odin and i have wiped cache/factory reset etc but still same problems. I do not know what else to try apart from using a custom rom :(

Voda UK image has slightly better performance but the upgrade procedure wasn't great (it's been out for a while, I'm just slow) as it randomly deleted certain apps for some amazing reason.

The Voda image should you ever feel the need to keep your phone stock, isn't very molested except for the voda discover rubbish.

Rebel did you ever have radio issues before? That looks like a shagged phone :/
 
I upgraded to the Echoe rom, and ram management is better i find, but ive had other odd issues where is just loses phone signal randomly. Ive flashed a stock rom this morning, to see if that fixes it :(
 
Apparently new version of the Echoe rom 4.4.2 tomorrow with a new base.

I might flash the new bootloader as well to make things 100%.
 
Updated Echoe ROM v17 to v18 and got no issues at all, everything so far has worked perfect. Still havent flashed new bootloader, dunno if thats a good thing or bad thing :)
 
My lock screen clock is ever so legg
Laggy since updating to stock kit kat. Anyone else the same? I have no personal message on lock screen either.
 
Does anyone know if you can reset your phone back to how it was when it arrived including all the updates? Without rooting? Or if you do need to root what is the best way of doing it with Kitkat and Knox installed?

I think the next phone I get I won't be updating as every time I do the battery life is worse. Used to get 48 hours out of my phone with 4 hours of screen on time. Last Sunday I got 10 hours with 1.5 hours screen on time.
 
I've updated my sgs4 to 4.4.2, I've noticed that they've now made the album art full screen. Is there any way to remove this?
