*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

For anybody into custom ROMs, the time has come for Lollipop. :) Echoe Rom v42 is based on Android 5.0.1 (Lollipop) and has a Samsung Kernel which makes it super stable, compared to previous versions.. I have tried other versions of Lollipop since they first came about in the beginning of the year but always gone back to 4.4.2 due to issues - this time im sticking with 5.0.1 - everything works as far as I can see..

Edit: This ROM is TouchWiz based, not the Google Edition.

I used the Echoe GPE ROM (v6.1) for a few weeks but didnt like the quality of any photos it took, hence I went back to TW.. I LOVED the pure Google version of the ROM though. :)

Just had one bought for me for my birthday last week. Upgrading from an SGS1, this thing flies! loving it. Just bought a Neo Hybrid case for it, looks the business.

Just reading the Echoe site, and they say Lollipop AEL is coming. Im assuming that is official Lollipop??

Funnily enough my photos have been pants lately. Didn't put it down to the rom!!
 
So I have an upgrade coming up in 2 months but not interested in the new phones out. My plan is to keep the GS4 but try a different ROM. One question I have is do any of these ROM's that are stable keep the Samsung Smart Stay?

If I can keep that but make it as basic android as possible then I can get a 4G sim only contract and be happy! lol
 
Just a heads up.. The Official Lollipop (5.0.1) for the S4 has finally arrived.. It has not been made available through Kies yet, but it is available on SamMobile for download and flashing through Odin. Or if you are like me and prefer custom ROMs, V44 of Echoe has been released and it seems to work very well (as always).
 
I downloaded the image from sammobile and downloaded odin.

Can't seem to do anything though. I added the image through the AP link and started my phone in the download mode. Nothings happening when I click start though. :/
