*** The Official Samsung Galaxy S4 Thread ***

why couldn't they make the home key a capacitive button. Would be less prone to wear and tear and look better flush.

indeed :(

Would have allowed them to have had less bezel too (in theory)

Probably cause they want to keep it so the device looks a bit unique compared to other phones and has the same design language to the other galaxy phones, much like apple and their attitude to the hard button.

after playing with my mums nexus 4 I've decided to hold out for the next nexus. s4 looks very nice but really like the stock android experience rather than having to root to get the most out of it (which undoubtedly would be the case with the s4).

The screen on the S4 looks lovely but why couldn't they make the home key a capacitive button. Would be less prone to wear and tear and look better flush.

I hate capacity buttons, the hard home key on the S3 was a major selling point for me :D

Sod it I think I'm going to get one, just checked 3's website and they're rolling out 4G in the Spring. Recycling sites are offering £240 to £260 right now for the Note II but I'll probably sell it via classifieds for a bit more.

Thats the spirit ;)

My N2 will go to recycling - less hassle :D

I'll take it off your hands for a good price, assuming it's titanium.

Go home mate, you're drunk. A screen which can display more content in a very pleasing image in integral to the user experience.

Ah now you hit on a point i was thinking of making.

Now that this generation of phones are going to be 1080p and have 5"+ screens. The next Android release really needs to scale it's self better to fit more stuff on the screen.

Currently my note2 doesn't fit more on the screen via Touch-wiz then my S2 did. I have to put on Apex and do loads of customizations. But even then when i text the keyboard takes up 60% of the screen and when browsing the internet and making a post i can hardly see what I'm typing

On XDA developers there are work arounds, but it ruins the look of some of the apps.

Yeah how dare they! Samsung complete failure. I was hoping for a 4K screen on 4.5" with full 3D without glasses and the capability to roll it up and put it in my pocket. Play all the latest console games and when i watch porn through it i want the porn star to reach out from the screen and give me a hand job

Seriously, what the hell do you guys want?!?!? One of you guys even complained that the curves had been lessened from the S3, which was a major complaint about the S3, i remember everyone wanting it to have straighter edges like the S2. I swear some people just hate for the sake of it
Don't get me wrong, it's quite an achievement to slim it down but I think we're just so used to the huge jumps between generations of S1 to S2 to S3. You can be as sarcastic as you want but I was merely pointing out that they're upping the megapixel count but necessary the camera quality. Also, I think 1080 screens on 5in display is ridiculous; that's the resolution of my monitor and I have that just 0.5 metre or so away. So maybe next year they will try to fit in a 4k screen...

That's the same as my 50" tv..... where do you draw the line?

I dont see the issue tbh. More pixels, less jaggies and a sharper display. What's not to like?
