**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

I disagree. I've never seen Facebook show up in the battery use list either, but I wonder if it using location services shows in System use, rather than the app use?

Many, many people have reported since removing Facebook and using a web based version, they get much longer battery life.

I couldn't be entirely sure, but I think mine's been better since disabling it.

Apps don't show up in system, they don't have access to it. They can request that the system provides them with information but that power use gets logged against the app.

I just set Facebook messenger to always save power which kills push and happy days. Never see Facebook in battery stats unless I actually use it a bit.

You need root to mess around with system.

Don't listen to the Xda head bangers they are all a bit ocd nuts with this stuff.

Im not getting notifications for things as i was on my nexus 5 even though notifications are turned on, any ideas?

Example, i have the amazon prime app and ordered something and then send out notifications to the app when its out for delivery and when delivered, i received neither on my S7. I also have a home automation app that ha geo-fencing and vibrates when entering/exiting an area around my house, this worked fine on my nexus 5, again im not getting the notifcations on my S7 even though they are turned on.

For anyone that's interested (and has half an hour to kill...) :)

I will now be going back to my Note 5 ;)

There should soon be an S7 Edge on the MM :)

Oooh, just had my first Whitelist protected call......phone rings with Scam or Fraud showing as the caller, with the number below. Very exciting :)

Googled the number and seems it is a car accident compensation type thing, so appears the functionality in the S7 edge is quite natty

Not had any scam calls yet but was hoping it would show me who was calling the same as my nexus device did, but it hasn't managed that yet.

Jumped from the s5 to the s7 Edge yesterday and first impressions are great, but there is one thing bugging me. I want to keep the "always on" screen on, but is there any way to stop the clock jumping around? It keeps catching my eye when it's on my desk and I automatically go to grab it as I keep thinking it's a notification or something?!

It would be better if it just drifted around very slowly, wouldn't it.

Got this Aukey HD wide lens today. Gonna have some fun with it at the weekend! There is minimal aberration compared to the cheaper eBay/Amazon wide angle phone lenses and the optics seems to be much better. The picture quality isn't as crisp as using no lens attachment, but it certainly is very good for what it is so far. Will know more about it when I'm out and about.

Unfortunately not, it's to stop screen bleed.

Got myself an S7 Edge as i was getting tired of my note 4 and its cracked screen and what a step up it feels like vs the n4, Great phone and looks amazing.

TWRP + Custom Rom + Root + Xposed = bliss :D

To install twrp you need a custom kernel due to DM verity no? I'm going to use flashify to install xposed without twrp.

Wow, you have rooted already?

I always root stuff right after i get them (Note 2/3/4,Shield TV,S7) not had a problem yet.

I also buy phones outright and not through contract if that makes any difference.

No you can install twrp with orginial firmware, Follow the XDA TWRP post and it explains it pretty well.

Exactly what I said in my review. It's really quite annoying. Even give us a brightness setting for the AOD. Dulling it down might help.

Nope. They do it so there is no screen burn in so its a worthy trade off too keep your screen from being useless in 1/2 years.
