**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Samsung customer services from my experience is absolutely diabolical. If it's a very faint scratch though as you say I don't see how that warrants a screen replacement!?

I know it's only faint but if it's something that's already been there when I've received it surely it's not right when I've paid £640. Thanks for you're reply though

Do many people have any issues with the screen scratching I noticed this week on mine near the right edge there's a long perfectly straight but very faint scratch, now I'm pretty sure it's not something I've done as I'm very careful with my phones, I only noticed it when the sun was shining on the screen. Now I always get screen protectors on my phones but ordered a panzerglass premium edge screen protector a couple of days after i got the phone, but it still hasn't came. Now I spoke to samsung regarding the scratch who said I will have to send it back to get a replacement but also said I had to return the vr headset now I was hoping my local samsung shop would replace the screen as the first person I spoke to said they would but when i phoned them again there saying I will have to pay £220, now I'm not sure what to do if to just leave it as it is as it's very faint but surely paying £640 and a screen being damaged isn't good enough, personally I've found the Samsung customer service poor as when on the phone they kept putting me through do different departments and telling me different things has anyone else had any issues ?

Thanks

I found a minute scratch a couple of days after having the phone, my concern at the time was that it had scratched so easily as all I'd done was carry it around in my pocket, but then I started to wonder if it had been there when I got the phone and I just hadn't noticed it.
Several weeks later and I have no further scratches, so I'm pretty sure it was there when I got it, if that's the case I'm not bothered. I get your point that for £640 is should be perfect, and it should, but I can only just about see it if I hold the phone at a certain angle and catch the light just right, so I'm never going to see it unless I really try. As I say my main concern was that I was going to get more scratches like this from just keeping it in my pocket, but so far that's not happened.

My S7 Edge has picked up a couple of scratches on the screen. Doesn't bother me too much but have been slightly surprised as my previous Z3 and current work iPhone never had an issue with the same day to day usage.

Seems it is a softer finish on the edge and more prone to surface scratching in my experience so far.

That's a big "if" though. If you'd noticed it straight away then fair enough - how long have you had the phone?

3 weeks mate the thing is I only noticed it when the sun was reflecting on the screen but the way it looks you can tell it's not a scratch that could have been caused from myself the way it's a perfect straight long line

I don't even see it myself. So clearly it's such a small number of users who might?

In such a detailed review which focuses purely on the display, I'd have thought it would get a mention.

From his same review of the S7 Edge, good to see that my eyes were correct about the basic mode, looks to give the most accurate reproduction of colour. The white point on my display is a touch on the cold side, but acceptable.

Caved in and bought an S7 Edge from Very a week or so ago using the 20% off code so I got it for £515. Also put it through Quidco for a laugh even though they shouldn't approve the cashback (£58), but I thought I'd try it on and that's still tracked/pending.

Anyway, I think I've settled on the following combo having faffed around with lots of different crap cases/protectors or good cases/protectors which simple don't work well together (e.g. peal the screen protector back etc) so I thought I'd share it.

Zagg Original Shield - Looks like a disaster once first applied, but clears if you leave it a couple of days and is pretty good from then onwards. Considering it's the original I was braced for the orange peel look, but they seem to have improved it a lot since I last used a Zagg shield on my 4/4S a few years back. Might give the HD Dry a go at some point though.

Spigen Thin Fit - Tried other cases and most of them curved around the edges on to the glass (as you would expect), but this disturbed the screen protector to some degree in my experience. This one doesn't and has the benefit of taking very little away from the device's shape and feel at the cost of less drop protection unfortunately, but it looks great imo!

Pics taken with my old trusty S4 and all the dust particles you see are above the protector! On a closing note the battery performance on this S7 really is exceptional.

Hey buddy, how did you get the Very code to work? For me it just kept showing as invalid.

You need to create a new Very account and sign up for their credit agreement, but you don't actually have to use the credit balance when you come to pay for the device if you don't want to. I paid using my credit card. They called me a couple of days later to confirm some details and authorise the transaction and that was it, it turned up a couple of days later.

Thank you, much appreciated.

I've gone through 4 tempered glass screen protectors already since getting the phone on Wednesday :/ They are all a load of crap and at £15-25 a pop I'm just gonna suck it up and not bother with them. I have it in one of the cases at all times anyway and I'd rather risk a few tiny hair line scratches down the road than keep ******* money up the wall!

my screen is cracked already so no screen protectors for me! and if sammy wants £220 to replace it, I might as well keep it like this lol.

why don't you get a screen protector film like zagg? i have one which is like zagg and it does the job and only cost £8

it'll protect it from scratches

Yep I agree, I wouldn't bother with a tempered glass one on a curved screen such as the s7 edge. My 'ultimate shield screen protector' is a perfect fit. I got the full body one for front, back and sides and I've got no complaints with it.

Just fitted the wet ultimate shield. Took my time and it looks great. It gets better the longer it dries

Going to give it till morning before I put the spigen back on it and hope it doesn't lift the corners

After dropping it last Friday in my barely there spigen case, I got the smallest of dinks on the top right corner of the phone on the metal. Not sure how as the case covered it. But there we go. So I've gone totally naked. Screw it. Yolo! :D
