**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Will buying from Amazon.De still give you the same stellar service as you get in the uk? Not withstanding posting back to germany. Could I sort any problems via UK chat as my german aint too good.

You get the same service. Amazing. And they speak English via email. So no problem there. I've sent stuff back to them before and it took no longer than it would take to send it back to Amazon uk

Amazon UK are very slow on the ball when adding new products and Pre orders. They haven't got either s7 up for Pre order yet.

Cheers mate. Finally are the handsets essentially the same model/variant as the uk as I wouldn't want to miss out on updates etc

Just noticed amazon.de list a white variant of the s7

Yeah, europe and the uk will be the same model number AFAIK. The only thing you'll get that's European is the charger plug. But that's only a minor niggle.

Cancelled my Three contract best they could offer was £12 a month for unlimited calls, text and 4GB data, but would have to buy the phone sim free.

In comparison the offer I have gone for comes at a tenner more over 24 months and I don't have to splash out £570 quid today.

Anandtech results are interesting, they're comparing against the SN820 test device so not that conclusive.

Regardless I'm disappointed in Exynos 8890, they provide services for gamers but give us a GPU that can't deliver.

I'll probably hold onto my Galaxy S6 for another 6 months, also I don't want a 32GB device.

Not impressed.

Not that id need unlimited data, but those deals dont seem to exist.

If i took the vodafone 10gb deal, with 20% discount and minus the handset cost, i would pay just under £14 a month.

Not that bad when its worked out that way.

Sorry, but your stance makes absolutely zero sense.

1. As you've pointed out, the SD820 comparison is based on Qualcomm's MDP platform.

2. I don't recall anyone being disappointed with the S6s performance and the S7 is faster in every department.

3. They've literally fixed every single major gripe with the S6 with bigger batteries, more ergonomic design and bringing the SD card slot back.

4. The S6 had one of the best cameras on the market and the S7 has made improvements on every element of the sensor and lens.

Even if it is slightly slower than SD820 phones, who cares? It isn't going to have issues running the latest graphical intensive games.

I'm unsure if the upgrade program is actually any decent. The numbers seem sound and it means a new Galaxy every 12 months but you're locked into a 24 month contract going this route.

Anyone gone for this?

Also, 5.05% cashback via TopCashback buying from Samsung direct, so I think I will just order it early and go this way. the Edge works out £606 this way if I opt to just buy outright instead of using the upgrade program.

Depends how you look at it really mrk...what will the value of the Handset be after 12months into the program? If in a years time you can get over half what you paid for it then it's less value...although it's fairly stress free to say they'll write off the rest of the balance if you trade in after 12months for a new one.

It COULD make sense for serial upgraders who are loyal to one brand...but also if you want it now but can't pay it all off then of course this option gives you the chance to pay it off early too when you have the funds together.

I don't know whether I would go for it myself to be honest.

I've binned the upgrade program idea. It's unlikely I will stick to Samsung as I've been dossing between Samsung and Sony the last 24 months anyway and have a G4 among other phones to play with at home and work.

I've gone the sim free route with TCB @ 5.05%. Seems the best deal. As you say, the handset after a year will be worth a lot less. I'd rather just continue what I've been doing all along and sell the phone and add the remainder to get a new flagship.

Sorely tempted despite having a 6P myself and issued a Z5 for work.

One thing no one has covered is that now that the SD slot is back does that mean they gone back to standard eMMC storage rather than there own UHS flash storage found on the S6 range?

How does the 8890 GPU not deliver? Its about 50% more powerful than last gen which had no trouble whatsoever.

Slower than the competitition, yes last generation does have performance issues with many games on the play store.

Does my Galaxy S6 offer smooth gameplay in all games, no. That's why I use gametuner to lower the resolution.

S6s??

Less internal storage, no 64Gb version for the US and most of Europe.
