**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

These are £300 on o2 website for 'perfectly fine' condition, if you want 'perfect' then £370. They'll be gone soon... check hukd

I had an update today on my XEU S7E, G935FXXU1DQC2 - still 1st Feb security patch. lol Samsung.

I guess we're now on the old poverty spec handsets in their eyes. :D

Kinda getting bored with slow security updates on a device with my bank/finger print and God knows what else on it.
I was watching a Sony Xperia xz premium video that's a few weeks old and it was running 7.1.1 with the latest patch... interested in a S8 but how long before it even gets updated to that :p

Yeah, I'm a bit confused, as people in the US seem to have already recevied the March patch? Unsure why there is so much disparity between countries / software versions!

Might have something to do with this?

Hey,

Su

[EDIT] Checked now and it randomly worked... sort of! Updated to Feb security patch (G935FXXU1DQC4). Is there a later version? Assume we should be on at least March?

Not checked for updates for a while but got one today on my S7. Still on Feb update. Was on Feb prior to today's update.

Not sure if this has been covered or asked before, but my phone updated itself to Nougat. Is there a way of rolling back to the previous version without too much hassle? I'm having difficulty with the notification icons...I can't tell whats an email, text message, etc.

I know what you mean, especially in todays world where the importance of having the latest software updates is continually impressed upon you. Unfortunately, in terms of phones, that realistically means having a Google Nexus/Pixel phone or an iPhone. Even the Sony you mentioned might have the latest patches now, but what about in a years time?

OK, trying to take a screenshot on my phone and apparently it's prevented by the security policy. Googling shows something about Faceprovider having frozen or been uninstalled but I don't think I've done any of these things and I'm not in private mode either. Any ideas? It's a stock, unlocked S7 from Sky Mobile.
Have noticed it's only an issue with the bet365 app open which is strange.

In Canada at the moment and my phone just updated from BTU to XXU after a 68MB update?

Managed to crack my S7 Edge screen on weekend - right on the edge annoyingly. Still perfectly usable as the crack isn't on the front and hasn't damaged the panel. It's annoying though. Wondering if there's much point paying to get it repaired? Could just sell it as is and put money towards S8.

Seen ones in good condition go for under £400 now so wouldnt expect more than 300-350 for it, depending on how big that crack is.

Thanks. It's not massive but noticeable particularly on white backgrounds/images. Any idea how much a repair would be? If North of £200 I might just sell it and put money towards S8. Will be happy with 300-350 for it.

If its just the front glass and the lcd behind is untouched I doubt it would cost more than 100 to replace at your local repair shop, and most likely around £70.

Give one of these a ring and see what they say tbh, could be even cheaper as theyre popular phones so might have stock at hand. I imagine Samsung official centre would charge around £130-180 for it.

If the lcd was damaged and you wanted to replace that then you will be looking at £200+ easily but the fronts are quite cheap.

I cracked mine a few months ago and also cracked my new one which ill be claiming on the insurance soon as ive made it worse today. The quotes i got around 3 months ago was £250 and the LCD was intact. It sounds like they was just going to replace the glass and LCD but they cant guarantee water-proofing either.

What do the like new / perfect phones comes with? is it just the box or does it come with charger etc

EDIT Also are these locked with a whole load of o2 branding?
