**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S7/Edge Thread ****

Can anyone recommend me a screen protector for my S7 edge that will fit with a Spigen case? When I bought mine it came with a protector on already, but it's starting to peel away at the top and dust is getting in there.

Did you find a decent screen protector?

I've just got an S7 Edge, and am looking for a decent screen protector.

Hi All,
Im new to Samsung/andriod after I got given a phone from work (S6 Edge+). I'm normally a Iphone person.

Things are going well you'll be glad to hear, however I need a bit of help. Itunes offered everything I needed for my iphone management, is there a decent equivalent with the Samsung? What im after is a decent music manager. I used to downgrade my itunes music from 320 to 192 so I could fill it which is what I want to do with my S6.

Any tips for a newcomer?

Mine too.. It looks like I might have to upgrade to XEU manually.. Any dummies guide along with the latest firmware files?

I believe I'm on XEU, and still on April security patch, so may not be worth the hassle...!!

I've done a bit of digging, and it would appear that flashing the phone via Odin does cause the OTA updates to stop working. This might not apply if you flashed the correct firmware for your phone, but I went from XEU and flashed the BTU ROM so it looks like I'm on my own here. It should be on June's security patch and I'm still on January!

Apparently sammobile has the firmware files, and it looks pretty straightforward to do, thankfully.

Last time I'm going to be impatient as I've inadvertently caused myself more work to do.

At least you're on April! January is pretty bad!

Agreed though, but most of the other manufacturers aren't much better. Google phone is the only way to go for an up-to-date Android experience. I have always wished manufacturers would give us stock Android on their phones, but that's always going to be too much to hope for.

What kind of battery life can I expect from one of these in the wild then? Got one from MM and my SOT seems to be around 3 and a half hours, that's with GPS, bluetooth and NFC turned off so little disappointing.

Funnily enough mine was good enough to rival my old Xperia Z3 when I first got it, but it didn't take long before that fell off MASSIVELY. Now I would say I probably get about 4 or 5 hours SOT at the very most (nearer 4 in reality), and always have to charge every day, but that being said, I don't bother trying to save battery life, more or less everything is turned on (except AOD which I did feel drained the battery unnecessarily). It's acceptable but is rather disappointing in comparison to when I first got it. I've even done a factory reset since then.

I got my S7 last Thursday having decided to ditch Apple for telephony and straight away found an interesting little problem with messages.
My wife also had come to the end of her contract but stayed with Apple getting an iPhone 7.
The problem arose when I couldn't receive a text from her. Turns out that I had to make several changes to my iPads in order for any messages sent as iMessages could be received by my android device.
