**** The Official Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ Thread ****

I don't think the S7E shared the Qi coil and NFC antenna in the same way but I suppose the only way i'll find out for sure is by trying it somewhere!
That's a shame if that's the case then.. I was really looking forward to having barclaycard contactless payments back again like I had on my S6 Edge

Be interesting to see a tear-down video to see where exactly and how large the coil is, that way it can maybe possibly be avoided when you stick the metal plate?

I've used nothing but 3rd party sites for several years now and not had a single issue, I always just take out a new contract. You will receive a new SIM with the handset with a new mobile number, in your case it would be a new EE sim. You then ring EE and tell them you want to carry your old number over to your new SIM, you give them both numbers, and it should be as simple as that. That's all I've ever needed to do in the past. PAC code is not required since you're not changing networks.

If you take a new contract with EE, you cannot port an existing EE number onto it.

It could be but the spigen case has a specific internal recess for the plate so it's kept tidy so you can only fit it in one place :(

So you need to get a free PAYG sim on another network, port your number to that with the PAC code, then get another PAC code and port it back to EE? Very silly tbh, O2 didn't require any of this messing around.

How does the vibrate function of the S8 compare to the likes on an iPhone 6?
Only reason I ask is because I tend to keep my phone on silent with vibrate On most of the time and have grown used to the iPhone 6. When I tried swapping to a OnePlus 3 the vibrate was so weak compared to the iPhone 6 I would constantly miss calls.

Thanks

My last question of the day honest :)

Any one notice their notification led not flashing?

Had a look in settings and it's on.

yeah i've noticed it doesn't always work and so have others here too.

Anyone get to the bottom of the wotsapp thing too? (like some sort of background data saving is going on)

I'm paying 70 quid a month with 9 quid 99 up front, unlimited texts and mins, 30gb data, unlimited music streaming, free unlimited everything in Europe, the free speaker if i sell that should offset the costs, 60 quid after employeer discount. I'm with o2, s8+

Good lord!

That is crazy

i'm paying £15 per month for 30gb data and unlimited everything else on a sim only deal from Three and £26 per month for the phone on a 0% intrest CC card.

Also bought an S8+.

I got a deal from SPC with Vodafone... And I'm already with Vodafone... They are making me port to Vodafone PAYG (takes 1 day, but there's a 30 day notice period, so effectively 30 days), then takes 1 working day to get back to my new Vodafone contract

Tom who did you get that deal with?

Same deal I got. Was MPD/SmartPhoneCompany but they've taken the deal off now to reflect some changes Vodafone made at their end.
